    Hi guys,

My buddy purchased these brand new OME 888X Coils from @HeadStrong Off-Road for his 2013 sport DBLB and he needs 887s instead so instead of Shipping these back to headstrong and paying a restocking fee we decided to give someone a good deal that's looking for a brand new set of 888X Coils! So looking for $165 shipped in the US! Save $10 on them new!

    Thanks,
    Corey

Do these fit on the 2016 OR? Does it change height/ride?

These fit 2016 trucks, they are 5mm longer than the 887s. I have them on my truck!

Do they absorb better than stock coils? Sorry I really haven't looked into coil upgrades on 3rd Gens, just complete coilovers.

If you put these on a set of bilstein 5100's they will provide about 2.5-3" of lift. The ride is pretty nice on my truck, I'd say better than the stock coils for sure!

I have some 887's that were installed for 3 weeks. I switched to 886's. If you friend is interested instead of having to buy a new set.

3" lift front Bilstien 5100s at 0 with OME 887 coils, Freedom Offroad UCAs, Bilstien 5100 rear shocks, 1.5" lift rear Wheeler's Offroad progressive AAL packs, Airlift helper airbags, N-Fab nerf bars/side steps, all sittin' on Falken 265/75/16s on American Racing 16s
Not to jack this thread, but 5100s with OME coils.... say, 886, 887, 888 will lift the truck, right? Is this at the bottom stock ride height setting? I recall reading somewhere that you aren't supposed to put aftermarket coils on 5100s. Is that just when they are above the stock setting?

If this is the case, what is better - stock ride height 5100s and OME coils or 2.5" setting 5100s and stock coils?

It's worse to preload the stock coils by extending your 5100's. 5100's on the 0 setting with OME coils is a much better ride and better for the longevity of the shock/coil. OME coils will provide the lift instead of the struts.

That being said I'm interested in the 888's.. but still working out a few details to see if I want to go this route.

You most definitely can put aftermarket coils on the 5100s. Toytec sells a coilover kit with this exact setup. As stated its just not recommended to preload them buy moving the collar above the bottom/0 setting.

I am running the 888 coils on my 17 TRD Sport and they gave me exact 3". I am using them with the 5100s, but the shock does not add height (at its lowest setting). I play to add a hidden bumper and winch, but without the extra weight it still rides great. Better than stock in my opinion.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I will probably plan on doing that in the near future. So you think OME coils and 5100s at 0/stock is better than 2.5" From what I understand, at the highest setting they have less travel. So 888 is the largest of the OME coils, correct? It will be the highest lift and the stiffest ride or is that not necessarily true?

Back to your post, I am interested in buying them in the near future if they are still available. Can't exactly buy them right now, though. I'll PM you later on.

It really just depends on what you plan to do with the truck. I bet they would feel pretty similar with a stiffer spring vs a preloaded stock spring. But if you plan to add any weight, I'd highly recommend aftermarket coils.

Yes, the 888 is the tallest OME spring. Ive read mixed opinions on the spring rates. I think it may just be a taller spring than the 887. Someone else can confirm that.

The 888 is 5mm longer than the 887, it results in an extra half inch of lift. However I believe the 888 is not recommended for 2nd gens. Here is a helpful chart from headstrong that shows all of the coil combination lift heights.

These coils should get you around 3 inches of lift on the zero setting on a set of bilstein 5100s according to Marie over at @HeadStrong Off-Road

Recommends 887s online for 2nd gens. Idk why. Why is your friend going 887s and not using these?
