Do you wave or acknowledge other Taco owners?

May not be ideal, but it can be done.

 

Damn, sounds like Taco Bell......my kinda place.

Actually, there are a lot in Maryland. A lot up in Harford County Maryland. Some days I lose count before I get to I-95 on my way to work.

Naturally I always hang out the window while the wife holds the wheel (we commute together) and I scream "HOWDY THERE FELLOW TACOMA OWNER!!" while I frantically wave my arms......

I get nuttin' in response but odd stares however.

 

After all this talk, I'm tempted to meet up just to get a selfie of you hugging my hood!

 

Bring the shine and we can do some video! I figure with a handle like Coot you gotta know where to get some......you sound like my kinda people.

In all honesty though, I just prefer life to be less hard for me and for those around me. There's too much hate in the world and honestly, I just don't have time for that. Oh, I can be cold and dead serious when I need to be. But life's to short to not try to be anything but nice and friendly all the time. Plus I ain't nobody special. I came up poor as dirt. Descendant of poor immigrants and nothin' but blue collar my entire life. Sure, I have a great life now financially speaking but that doesn't mean I don't have my share of hardship too. I was taught manners early on and to respect other people and their belongings. That's all I ask from others.

If I wave or nod, or whatever and you don't that's cool too. Maybe you have something important on your mind or were just looking at my awesome "turd" gen, unlifted, unmodded, fake hood "skewpped" (I still don't get that one), mall crawlin' truck and didn't see me.

It's all good. I'm certainly not gonna make a fuss about it. If they don't have the time or decency for that, then so be it. Their loss. It won't change my opinion of them or my outlook on life. again, It's just too short to care.

And now back to work.......

 

Unfortunately it mainly is derived from my last name from my old navy buddies, but yea I got a chick to help me out with that. I honestly appreciate your attitude and outlook on life. From your experience it sounds like you grew up in a good way and it makes you a better dude for it. I'm in the northern va area and it's hard to not find an asshole around here. If we ever meet, I hope I wave to you although to be honest I tend to throw the wave back as many around here are only commuters in their tacos with little to no interest in wheeling or the taco brotherhood. With that being said I got a 2012 Barcelona red with a hood scooped front end with glass fenders with long travel. Considering the northern va crowd I doubt you would miss me, not trying to sound cocky by any means.

 

I have a 2016 Challenger SRT. When I'd only had it a few weeks I stopped at a light and a guy in a 3rd Gen Tacoma pulled up next to me and revved his motor a few times. I was all wtf, thought he must be having some sort of fueling issue. When the light changed he took off and accellerated rapidly, where I just moseyed. We came to the next light. Again, he revved his motor. So when it changed this time I goosed it just a bit, maybe 1/4 throttle, and promptly left him in a cloud of dust.

But it made me think, maybe these Tacos are hot mofos, so I bought one! If nothing else, they do seem to inspire solid confidence and self-esteem!

I wave at 3rd Gens, but most look at me with a puzzled expression.

 

I was like you when I had a CJ7. But I also noticed not all CJ5 drivers waved at me!
Today, I waved at another new Quicksand taco like mine. He didn't wave back.

 

I live in SoCal...if I waved, my arm would constantly be in motion out the window.

If I'm waved to, I return the wave, but I don't initiate the wave. It would just be too much, considering I see more than 1 Tacoma every city block.

 

Seems like nobody waves in New York. When I had my Wrangler at least half them waved.

No problem, my friends use to call me The Fruitman and it had nothing to do with anything edible. Just a biker nickname. Yea, you sound like a guy with his head screwed on right too. We are a dying breed. Why when I meet someone like you I tend to go the extra mile.

This Probably sounds stupid but usually only if it's modded. People that don't mod their trucks probably aren't on Tacoma World, they're just standard buyers who are just driving around and would look at you like you're crazy if you waved.
Also, I've never had someone wave to me in a unmodded truck. I get waved at all the time and it's always people who have tricked out their truck to some degree.
