Well, based on my experience I would say do two things:

    1. Take them both for an extended test drive if possible with varied driving.
    2. When comparing them add $1000 to the cost of the Tacoma to "make it right," because at this point, I don't have much faith in
Toyota to fix the issues I'm having. They may expand the CPS recall and fix my MPG issue (or I will replace it hoping it helps), but I seriously doubt they will do anything that will fix the biggest problem with the Tacoma, which is the drivability IMHO. Thankfully there are businesses like OV who give us the option of fixing it...but we shouldn't have to.

Quick question, should I get the crank position sensor recall and the TSB-0077-16 REV1 done before I load the new tune in? I just want to make sure I am getting every benefit of the new tune. Order#1858 hoping I ships out soon. @OVTune

I'd think it would depend on how OV is handling updates when
you add new mods? Can you re-scan, send it in and get an
    updated tune sent back?

I'm not OV, but I can tell you the answer is a resounding yes on the CPK (some call it CPS). That is one of the things that feeds the ECM data, so whether or not your running a stock tune or an OV tune, you need to feed it good data for it to run the way it's supposed to. As for the ECM flash update, I would think OVs tune would be replacing that, so it doesn't really matter whether you update that or not...but I suppose he is the best to answer that. :)

rev2 USB dongles arrived. These will be pre-registered dongles. Much easier process.
shipping notifications out tonight, license updates as well.

we also have set date with our dongle manufacture and next shipment. I'll be posting that info soon so that anyone wishing to purchase a tune for their truck who hasn't yet has a timeline.

We understand that everyone who didn't get to place an order in round one ready, will have info on that tonight.

@OVTune, when and what will the datalog set-up step accomplish? Will this step entail information for you to fine tune for individual customers?

we will have our datalog setup done soon. We are working on two different ways to do this. Just finishing protocol and PIDs.
One way will be via laptop in the car.
The other way will be by plugging a mini-SDcard with our config file into the SD card slot in the tactrix, and plugging it into the OBD. Then it will record your entire drive and all PID data we need. take the logs off the SD card and email them over. One hold up at the moment on the SD logging is Toyotas new CAN bus for these ECUs are unlike anything before, it doesn't use the same bus as what we are all accustomed to.

Our MAIN focus, and how we are approaching this is that we will be continuing testing and updating of our own calibration so that we can release update versions for people so that in ordinary circumstances minimal logging is necessary.
Once 1.02 is released we will have some focus on calibration modifications specific to car mods (like exhaust, test pipes, different intakes, etc)

We will also release our own special calibration for a part we will be developing.

At the moment im using Torque via a bluetooth OBD II dongle. It has the ability to log some of the more important parameters, ltft, stft, A/F, VE, mass airflow, throttle and so on. However it does not log Knock which scares me. Wish i could log fuel pressure also. Hopefully with your setup we can log those parameters and more.
