To all the armchair experts who think that pressing a button twice or three times isn't too much effort perhaps they don't realize that to unlock the rear doors of your Tacoma for loading kids, groceries or whatever, you have to press the button three times, each time sounds the alarm beep twice so having it sound six times just to open the rear door is not only annoying but embarrassing as it causes everyone around to to look over and wonder what your issue is. The technology is there so if a Tacoma owner want to open all doors with a single push of a button, they should be able to.

That being said, I went thru the steps outlined earlier in this thread and thought that all the opening and closing of doors was a joke but I can assure you it does something. Unfortunately all it did for me was render my keyless entry system inoperable. I did the steps a few more times again as listed by BakoTruck in the third post of this thread and it worked on my 2012 TRD Sport 4 door, sort of. Only need to press the button twice rather than three times to unlock all the doors. I'm sure if I kept messing with it I could set it for single click but like any good gambler, I'm walking away with my winnings.

My hot ass is driving it.. what else does it needs?!?!?
I’m not sure if I’m laughing at this thread and some of the genius responses... or the thought of my 11 year old daughter standing in the rain while I am in the car because she tried to open her door on the first set of beeps... not the second set of beeps... like I’ve explained 400 plus times.... I couldn’t get rid of the two button push unlock until she has mastered this skill

Seriously??? Somebody can't be bothered to click the key fob twice??? That's like getting winded from opening your email.

I always use my key to unlock and lock my Tacoma. It sucks I have to turn it twice to unlock my back doors. :frusty:
But it makes my FOB batteries last longer and I don't use my truck battery to operate my door locks. :burnrubber:
