    Hey guys i recently
(2 months ago) got my windsheild replaced (at a shop)
and my prinsu rack installed (by me) since the above two have been done i have noticed a slight leak fown the passenger a pillar, following the windsheild down to the dash.
I have since resealed the passenger prinsu roof rails and taken truck to the windshield place twice where they apparently"water tested" and didnt get any leaking. Any ideas? If im parked on flat land i assume the driver side rails or 3rd brake light seal wont be the cause?
    Sorry about storytime.

Chances are it was the rack I had a leak on my oem rack that was installed after purchased and needed more silicone. No leaks now.

I figured that as well, so i removed the racks side rail and resealed with silicone and double/triple checked it all out. So im out of ideas.

So just picked up my truck, and this is deffinetly the iceing on the cake... there is now a crack dead centre of my windsheild that was not there this morning. I also know they took the truck down the road to the carwash. They are saying it was there this morning! Trust me if it was i would have asked them to do a repair. So now i have a brand new leaking windsheild with a big crack(2") not impressed.

Need to vent and drink some beers i guess.

I swear this truck is haunted, every time one thing gets fixed something else happens.

Don't feel to bad. My Duramax had a bad leak from the windshield from factory! Water everywhere. Took it to the dealer and they found it pretty quick. All carpet replaced along with new windshield.

Only issue is my windsheild was replaced by insurance And the shop is denying its leaking saying its the rack, ive water tested each bolt location and had no water then the windsheild and had water so i dunno what to do. Im gonna call the insurance company and tell them i am dissatisfied with the windsheild rep they recommended and ask if they will cover a new toyota windsheild and replacement of carpet/headliner etc by the dealership if necassary.

Just thought id note that my first replacement (toyota)never had an issue and this aftermarket one does.

Most dealers will send that out to a body shop or have a mobile service come in. Yours needs to go to a body shop. They pressurize the inside cabin run water and soap on the outside and look for bubbles. Almost same thing when looking for a leak on a tire.

The other part could just be shitty install again. I wouldn't put it past shops these days.
Very possible they also have the wrong windshield. I would push for a factory replacement every time since toyota switched to acoustic windshields and have the go pro mount from factory.

O and by the way your not suppose to get a car wash for several days when you replace your windshield. Sounds like some real champs that are handling your truck.

They replaced it a couple months ago, and ive brought it in a few times to have the leak checked, how might one do a "soap test" at home?

You're going to need to pressurize the cabin first before the soap test. I leave that to the pros.
