Lots of good info, thanks to all TW members for keeping this page beefed up with so much info.
Had my '16 4X4 TRD off-road since beginning of last year. I always wanted a Tacoma and I was finally able to afford it. For the most part I like the truck and I get a lot of attention here in Germany. Seems like this type of trucks are very expensive in this part of the world and way better looking than the Hilux. I definately dont like the transmission and how it shifts, always "fishing" for gears and not capable of proper upshifting when needed. Engine and road noise is terrible, can't make Bluetooth phone calls as it becomes very raucous when downshifting when not needed. It sounds like the engine is at very high rpms when is really not. Transmission lacks power, even after a recent dealership reset. I've been reading some of the posts on sound dampening and general issues, luckily I dont have major issues like some of the other members. Once again, glad to be part of the community.

Welcome! If you haven't already, check out the Tips & Tricks thread for info that might help you with your '16 TRD. I've only had my '17 TRD OR for about a month now, but I'm loving it so far! I spent several years in Germany thanks to Uncle Sam, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Met my first wife in Berlin, but I won't go there. >;-) Both my daughters were born in Germany -- one in Neu Koln and one in Kindsbach/Landstuhl
