Okay no one flame me for this...

Has any one else noticed that there seems to be a lot of roof top tents coming up for sale used? I'm wondering if the expo builds were just a trend and people are starting to move on??? Just seems that way right now.

I loved my rtt, but sold it for a few different reasons, wonder if these people are doing something different?

****if you have a rtt in here I'm not talking shit bout you. A lot of you love this shit and I know that. Just talking about what I'm seeing. ****

Edit: if it was just a trend, what's the next one going to be? Back to longravel builds so I can be cool again?

Bought my dad a smoker, it's just a little guy!

He then pointed me to a FB page for GMG and I now have a mod list setup to do to mine. First up, upgrade to the wifi controller... then a lift kit and larger tires.

I sold mine after six months. My situation is different than most.

I see a lot of people want hardshell tents so you will see a huge influx of used (soft) RTTs. Some people decide they don't use it enough and rather get cash. The expo bubble hasn't popped yet, I think we're in the middle of this EAF trend.

I agree. I'd much rather have a tent like Kevin's but I needed a bigger one.

If I was staying in the SE, I would've kept my RTT but would've found a way to store it. I immediately lost 100 miles per tank when I installed it. But just weeks before I got rid of it, I magically gained 40-50 miles back. Idk.

You'll run out of yard, shop, garage, and driveway space soon.

This. I think I'd love to build a trailer to have one one. That's pretty much Theo my way I see myself getting back into an rtt

Good nobody buy any for the next 6 months and hopefully prices will drop enough that I can afford one.

Though I won't be keeping mine on the truck at all times like some. I don't need to be expo af all the time and for quick day trips or even one night trips I see it a little unnecessary given the situation. Though I wish I had one on the alpine loop last summer and I will for sure have one for the rubicon next year.

I made a good chunk of money on my RTT but I got in on a damn good GB. I think Brent got in on the same deal. Didn't lose a cent.

I made a couple hundred off the tent/rack combo. But also included hi-lift, trasharoo, and Mr heater buddy to sweeten the deal.

Did your math include the cost of those items when you said you made a few hundies?

Trasharoo was a bday present, hi lift was very cheap(sale) and Mr heater buddy was full price and only used once. I technically made money in the end, if you do not factor in me driving 700+ miles each way to Miami to pick up three RTTs as part of that GB. That 10mpg for over half the drive back sucked all future profits. Lol.

That's liberal math... of course we count the fuel to get it. Maybe you aren't ready to move here!

If I ever get to build a proper garage on my property I'll rig up a pulley system so I can do it solo. But until then it'll stay bolted to my rack and be just a few bolts off and on with the help of a friend or the gf if she is feeling strong that day.
