    You're not. Yet.

You've not tweaked it to compensate for MPH error, and it needs a couple of tanks to 'learn'.

Even though I am not monitoring MPH regularly, I discovered that it was spot on with my GPS, even though my speedo reads high by 2-4.

Just installed mine, picked up at $93. It's very nice, wish I done it sooner. Mounted on top of left most AC vent flat surface. Running cable was easy, it's really consealed, no slop, and wire tucked behind trim without cutting or grinding whatsoever.

Is there a way to have the backlight turn on with the headlights?

I just used some double sided gorilla tape. Not in my line of vision at all since I'm pretty tall.

I don't think so. I have mine on red color with low light setting, and it's been perfect. Can read it fine during the day, and at night it's the same brightness as the dash.

Agreed... I need some ideas as I've been debating on where to put this thing when I get it next week.

My other idea was on the steering column, or up against the headliner somewhere.

I did not "dislike" where you put it, but I'm kinda the type that I try to keep things looking stock and clean & tidy. I'd rather it not stick out much if possible. I've been looking around on the dash center column area for an open space that would fit it, but haven't found anything that I really like yet.

No worries, this spot definitely isn't stock looking. Hell, the wire is exposed until it gets to the windshield and gets tucked away.

My mounting choice. I would have preferred it on the top of the steering column clamshell like I have it in my '04 Highlander. However, in the Highlander it does not block the view of anything in the cluster. In the Tacoma it does. Albeit just the indicator lights below the speedo, for some strange reason I like seeing them. :anonymous:

Regardless, easy enough to move if I decide to put it back there.

Price is dropping again after staying over $150 for past 9 weeks- currently $121.04

Dropped about $36 in three days- maybe it is tied into a holiday weekend? Last big drop was July 4th weekend, fwiw.

Already have mine, but thought others might be interested.

Put it in your cart and see if the price continues to drop, again fwiw.

EDIT - price returned to $159....oh well, will keep checking

What amazes me about the Scangauge is it's accuracy concerning fuel burn. After making an adjustment after the first fillup it has been spot on for each subsequent fillup, even when pulling trailers.
