Just curious where you found the Smittybilt for $600?

The place I purchased has a 30day price match.

They just did a group buy for us so they are probably sold out. I had to wait for a shipment from China or wherever to get mine.

Nice I got mine new for around $500 with the annex (don't ask how :D)

I don't see why not, with the right height it would work.

I use a long beach towel on the rear most bar when I'm loading the tent up. Once I've got it mostly right I pull the towel out and adjust by hand.

When I got my Mt. Shasta regular version, it came with an annex. I actually have never used it so if anyone is interested I would love to sell it. I don't think the floor is strong enough to sit on the doorway without the ladder.

My floor got stolen from my Mt. Shasta extended out of the bed of my truck last week. I've got a question out to CVT on how to get a replacement. Interested in selling just the floor? Altho not sure if the anex floor would work since min is the extended version?

TacoDoc's old setup Picture is close to 10 years old now...

Personally, I think the ladder is too vertical in this picture. If you are worried about the ladder 'slipping', strap it to the truck or stake it down.
These fold-open RTT's can be opened and will self-support the opened half - without weight bearing down on it. I believe that is what the two nylon webbed straps that run from one end of he tent to the other between the tent material and the tubular framework are for...

you got lucky with that deal!

I purchased my Smittybilt tent during a 4Wheel Parts parking lot sale that they seem to throw at least every 3 months. I paid $712.99 for the tent plus purchased an additional 3 year no questions asked "Extreme Warranty" for $75 bucks, that's a total of $850 bucks including sales tax out the door, and I was able to pick it up myself the same day at their warehouse. I also made my own bed cage for under $90 bucks in material and hardware putting the whole setup tent and bedbars at $950 bucks. My complete setup cost less money than a single tent from anyone of the "premium names" that are probably made in the same factory anyways.

Tacodoc was the first RTT I saw in person during a TTORA run in Anzo Borrego back in 2009

Yup. Couldn't pass it up. The only thing wrongs one of the outside straps that holds the cover on is a little frayed. Tried contacting smittybilt but I need a receipt to get it warrantied. Lol.

    I noticed that to.

All I did was to cut the strap right above the frayed ends and then melted the freshly cut ends with a lighter. I also had some stray threads pop up along the edges of the strap where the velcro is sown at. Took a lighter tp that as well
