Where should I start, body lift, suspension lift? Looking at a 2 in on both.

I am on my second 2006 Tacoma and new member to Tacoma World. I have a lot of work to do on my from stock build and thought this would be a great place start. I have had the vehicle for little over a three months and recently returned from a camping trip from Colorado where I was able to put the truck through a bit of off roading and was pleased with the performance on the highway and on the trail.

The vehicle is 1 owner used upon purchase with 120,000 miles, and in immaculate shape. I was a little skeptical purchasing an automatic four door, as I have always driven standard single cab trucks, but have been pleased with the purchase thus far. Even the short bed has not been as much of an eyesore as I had imagined.

    That sounds good.

So why the lift bug? Sounds like there isn't anything to be solved by it?

    Welcome.

Would like a bit more clearance if the situation would arrive that I need it, or would like to go down something more challenging.

Neither lift you ask about gives much other than approach angles, which can be important. But changing bumpers and such can help as well.

Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road, get her thoughts on suspension for your case.

Don't make the mistake of building for how you 'might use' the truck someday, build it for how you use it 85-90% of the time. You'll enjoy it more.

That's pretty much what I was going for. I had planned on changing bumpers for clearance options but had opted to go with lift first for aesthetic reasons but may reconsider. Thanks for the advise and contact @Clearwater Bill.
