I don't consider fuel costs but I do look at mpgs. I drive 20k a year. Hoping to cut that down to 10k next year. My poor truck might hit 100k before the move.

MPG is related to fuel cost... lower the MPGs the higher the fuel cost. So 1,400 miles of driving at lower MPGS equals major fuel cost. so you lost money on the overall deal.

We still have a lot to teach you!

Thinking about selling my truck and getting an older FJ80. Need more room for family but don’t have room for another vehicle. Two cages and three street bikes fills the garage and driveway.

Yeah weather depending, or if he gf is going, for one night trips I can bring the hammock, but winter or longer trips I'll have mine easy enough to throw on and be ready to go.

Next trend is the mobile protest rig. SJW, status is optional, but you must install a PA system with multi directional speakers, truck bed must carry enough supplies to make numerous picket signs on a wim, poster boards, sharpies, and wood. Body armor is still a plus with said rig as if you are feeling discriminated against or like life is unjust you can plow threw crowds or do what you want because fuck it your a millennial it's your right.

I'll throw my .02 in if it means anything regarding the rtt/expo trend.

Trend is right.. but I mean, we all had to see that coming, at least a little bit. When is something on TW NOT a trend? It'll fade like everything else once the new cool shit feeling wears off and all the trendy people are weeded out. I'm one of the guys who leaves it on all the time.. obviously just for the EXPO AF/trendy points. But really.. I/We, (my wide and I) have gotten so much use out of it, (partly because it being on all the time, constant reminder to get out and use the equipment!) and have become so accustomed to it, that we can setup and breakdown camp in a matter of minutes. It really isnt an issue as it used to be with me. I was somewhat concerned with leaving it on full time, the setup time, wheeling and camping, etc. It really isnt that big of a deal once you get your routine down, just like anything else.

For us, it was an answer.. for others.. it was a fad. I had no intentions to build the truck as it sits today.. most of you knew me back then and how I always said "clean and simple". Well, that was before the release of RTT's and honestly, that sparked the fire again. I grew up camping, but always had ground tents, or went with family and groups that had setups. The ease of access and just being self sufficient was perfect for me.. I was their target audience 100%. I was floating in that "idk what to do with my truck, ill leave it simple" limbo because I wasnt sure what the end goal was going to be.. I knew what I liked.. wheeling, camping, etc.. and this "expo" thing popped up and basically just "named" and created a genre of wheeling I was doing already for years up north.. then tents popped up and boom. right up my alley.

I do hate the EAF shit.. its definitely the "trendy" part of it.. and I'm not about that. I'm hoping it does die out a little bit so its not the cool thing anymore and the judgement and BS comments at gas stations like "so do you explore or something?" "do you do that expedition type living" stop..

It's going to be like 3rd grade all over again, by the time I got the tamagotchi it wasn't cool anymore.

Sure a lot of the expo stuff is trendy and kind of a fad, still makes camping a lot more enjoyable.
