If it is ac unit, you will just replace the whole think I'm sure. So I'd just listen to it and see if it sounds shitty. Oem is pricey. I went aftermarket for mine when I did it a few months ago

You really cant do it yourself to have it properly charged. And the bolts were really fucking hard to get at. I did it with a budy (mechanic) at his dealership when he was done for the day. Would not want to do it myself.

Flex head ratchet wrench 12mm, and socket with u-joint. Piece of cake. My hash marks for removals, have been upgraded to Roman numerals. Lol.

Pull alternator first. Which for you Moose, probably means pulling s/c bracketry as well.

So this chirp happens when cold. under load/ac on, makes it worse. once the truck warms up it goes away. I'm in the process of changing the oil, installing my catch can, and some other tlc items. I will get to removing belts and stuff later once the truck cools again.

Take a coffee filter, or white paper towel, and try to wipe behind the pulley. A lot of times, the seal on the bearings looses its seal and will allow small amount of grease out of the bearing over time, leading to the inevitable. if you have grease back there, it's highly probable that's what is squealing when cold and under load.

That will help eliminate the pulley without a stethascope

AC on making it louder doesn't necessarily mean it's the source. It's adding extra load when engaged. Some pulley/bearing going bad, belt debris in a pulley, etc.
