Came in here for the :rasta::rasta::rasta: shenanigans, stayed for the crockpot recipes!

I made one of those "ready-to-cook crockpot meal-in-a-bag" once in my wife's brand new crockpot. The meat must've gone bad and the potatoes were terrible, and it ended up putting a rotten smell in the pot semi-permanently (seriously, 3 months of trying different cleaning methods to no avail). My wife and I got the idea to make an apple crisp with butterscotch morsels in it. Let me tell you, that was the tastiest apple crisp I've ever had, and the rotten meat smell in the pot has now been removed and replaced with apple-cinnamon-butterscotch.

1 whole chicken, with the BBQ rub of your choice.

    1) Apply the rub and set the bird in the crockpot (which at this point is off)
    2) Chop up 1 onion and two carrots and stuff into the cavity. Mince 1-2 cloves of garlic and sprinkle on the chicken
    3) Add 1 just enough beer of your choice (honestly, this is the best possible use for that can of Natty Light that your buddy left in your fridge 6 months ago), chicken broth, wine, etc. to cover the bottom of the crock pot in 1/2-3/4" of liquid.
    4) Cover and set the heat to low.
    5) Forget about it for 6-8 hours, depending on the size of the bird and your crockpot.
    6) Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
    7) Transfer the bird to a baking sheet/dish and cook until the skin is crispy
    8) Remove from the oven and let it sit 5-10 minutes, then slice and serve.

A 5-lb roaster usually runs around $8 at my local grocery store, and with two people eating it is usually good for 2 meals as a primary, and then the scraps are good for another meal as an additive (rice & bean burritos w/chicken, stir fry, etc). Pretty cheap eating, and definitely tasty.

Of course, since I raise my own chickens now, it's even cheaper, and they're free range & organic :D

Now you're on track! Don't know about the rusty water, might be tasty, but using a CP for mass hot dog cook is definitely a good thing.

Insta-Pot pressure cooker. Does anything a slow cooker does in 1/10th of the time. I put a rack of ribs in the pot with 2 cups of apple cider and 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, cook for 21 minutes, then take them out (fully cooked at this point), add some Sweet Baby Ray's, put in the oven for 21 more minutes just to give the sauce a nice texture and done.

I also make shrimp scampi in 8 minutes, pulled pork in one hour, and a few other favorites including a beef recipe with red wine and butter that falls apart tender in one hour.
