Anyone else here have an issue with their CC being activated but wont "Set". My "Maintenance Required" light is on because I have to take my truck in for its 5k service... Does anyone know if that might be a safety feature built in to prevent you from setting CC?

Press the in on the side button of the knob (On/Off)
Push knob down to set desired speed (I think its gotta be above 25 MPH tho)

I've done it a bunch of times before, its worked like a charm each time... Now the icon pops up on my center console showing that its "On" but wont show that it's "Set" because it won't "Set".

I know from experience that if you don't fully tighten your gas cap, then CC will not operate. Perhaps that's the cause of your issues.

OP you can turn off the maintenance warning in the settings on the head unit. It's worth a try I guess but I doubt that's it.

I can dismiss it, but it comes back every time I start the car. So no use there

Gotta check... But I highly doubt it, I'm kinda OCD with that stuff, I'll tighten it twice to hear the click twice

No I mean you can reset it so that it doesn't come back when you restart. I think it's in the settings app towards the bottom. You click it to reset the maintenance warning and it'll go away completely until it's time for maintenance again. I just did it a few weeks ago.

4th gear or higher only. It was a long shot.

Most cars don't, however I don't remember specifically if our trucks allow for it or not

I ran across this in the OM: "If the cruise control speed cannot be set or if the cruise control cancels immediately after being activated, there may be a malfunction in the cruise control system. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer."

Could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if it resets.

Yeah they'll reset it for you or at least they should.

Only time I've noticed cruise control not working is if you turn of traction control. It works in S mode or with a gear selected.

The maintenance light is nothing but a mileage ticker. Those of use who do 10k OCIs just reset it at 5k and let it roll again.

Has it worked previously for you and now has stopped?

Highly unlikely a battery disconnect/ECU reset will accomplish anything. But just in case it might, I wouldn't do it. Because if it affects the CC, that means there is a pending code hanging out that the tech needs to be able to read.

Either way, since you're going to the dealer anyway, warranty work is in order.

This is true... However it is worth to mention that my traction is ON and I am in regular Drive, not ETC (or ECT... Kinda forgot which it was) and not in "Sequential" mode either.
