What's the best Axe & Shovel setup

Just got a an Allpro Rack looking for best Axe & Shovel combo's?

 

Not a bed rack, but I went with a Fiskars D-handle shovel from Amazon and a matching chopping axe from Ace Hardware.

 

what brand or where did you get those rubber mounts for the shovel and axe? thanks.

Isn't the fiskars shovel handle bent like an s-curve?

 

Slightly, yes. I actually face it the other way now because it's easier to get it in the mounts this way.

 

Quick fists for the mounts.

Go to Home Depot and choose a shovel and ax you like.

Or spend 3x that amount and get a crazy beaver shovel.

 

Any reviews on Mag Lok tools?

 

Here's what I had:

• Shovel is a Handle Wood Digging Shovel from Home Depot which was $14.97.
• Axe is a Estwing 26 in. Camper's Nylon-Vinyl Grip Handle Axe from Home Depot which was $39.96.

Mounted with @RelentlessFab quick fist bed rail mounts (and painted to match the BBP truck)

 

Nice set up.

 

I just keep the shovel and axe locked in my toolbox, protects them from the elements.

Yep, had a shell on my 91 for 12 years, it was nice but had a tendency to accumulate too much crap over time. Started using toolboxes in my 99 then 04 and now 16. It keeps me from over filling but still keeps what I do pack dry and secure. Doubles as a bike rack too.

 

Razor-Back shovel and axe mounted to the side of my roof basket with QuickFist.

 

everyone and their synthetic handles on their axes...I can't leave my hickory handle axe outside...
