I don't buy into BCAA's. I got a nose bleed one time taking them and quit. Someone gave me some a couple weeks ago and I took them for a couple days but felt like shit after so now it's just sitting in my pantry with about 20 servings left. I think if you eat enough/well you don't need to add more with BCAA's...

I struggle to gain weight too. I'm 163 right now without any kind of diet manipulation and I stay here. I bulked up over the winter and only got to 172 by eating 4200cal a day. As soon as I started my cut (3000cal per day) I dropped back to 163 in almost a week. I have crazy high metabolism, can't wait for it to slow...

Cool, thanks. How necessary is the caffeine? Does it just give you the jitters in that mix? I try and avoid caffeine after 12pm and I usually hit the gym around 1-2

I get the jitters or "tingles" from the Beta A. I usually workout around 11 too so having caffiene that early doesn't bother me later. If I ever workout in the afternoon around 4 or later I don't sleep at night

It's personal preference. I think they sell them in 200mg capsules which isn't that much compared to soda or red bull or standard preworkout formulas

Be careful what you wish for!
I used to have a very fast metabolism years back....it's slowed significantly over the years. I really need to exercise portion control and watch what I eat these days or I see it soon after.

I hear you on those BCAA's though...
That stuff used to get me feeling all cracked out. Played out my adrenals or something

Not if you wanna compete. But if you just want to look good, yes. Unless you have a legitimate condition/disease that 'prevents' you from gaining/losing weight.

I put 'prevents' in quotes because it doesn't actually prevent you, just makes it harder.

PB&J is not a real sammich. Lean meats and veggies for me, and lots of them.

I've only got so much time in the morning man. I'm gonna start working out again in our basement gym before work which means up at 530 to leave at 6 to be there at 7. I'm gonna be crockpotting a lot of stuff soon though.

You gotta watch the carbs in some of the things you are talking about eating, i.e. black beans, brown rice, etc. They have a good amount of carbs which can add up.

I wasn't even thinking about time, I just jumped in without reading any previous posts so I don't know the context. But I was more so thinking about hitting your natural/genetic limit. Which can definitely done using a consistent plan and diet over the course of time. You only need roids if you want to shorten that time/exceed that limit. On that same note, ou only need supplements if your diet is missing key elements (in which case, it isnt a perfect diet after all)or you need it for convenience, i.e. you had to work late or you left your lunch at home or whatever, so you do a protein shake as a meal replacement/get 'close enough' with macros and such.

Where did all the nutritionists come from????? The diet that is best is the one that works for you. Thats it. The end. Not to mention our genetic structures are most likely not the same. As far as supplements @uhplifted. My protein is a good cheap source. Use my code and you will get few bucks off your order on top of normal sales. ADAM-RD72

Pre you said you don't like caffeine so don't listen to me but I love Hyde on double scoop catalyst. That one is by far the cheapest I've ever seen. 12.99 plus 3.00 shipping for 30 servings + a 30 serving bag of their recovery mix. But they only put it on sale for that once in a blue moon. I'll have to find a link to that. or make your own.

What's the website you use for protein, I think you left that out haha. As far as caffeine I don't mind it, as long as I don't take it after 12pm. I'm trying to switch my workouts back to 7am, so caffeine is definitely a plus to get me through the workout and work day. Probably gonna make my own though. for 250g of the two things @ThunderCookies mentioned it was like 20-25 bucks.

    Here's my top 5 list

    1. Mocha (simply great)
    2. Cinnamon roll (mixes will with anything)
    3. Salted caramel ( do you really need a reason)
    4. Banana (tastes like banana lady taffy)
    5. Strawberry ( great in oats or muffins or with yogurt for a sweet desert)

I've only had chocolate (notvery good from any brand I've had) and strawberry. The strawberry I've got right now is pretty good but expensive as fuck. Your list sounds good minus banana
