Hehe I might buy it then to have a spare front locker. To be fair you did buy your second one from a certified ass clown.

You sure it won't fit a 1st gen? Looks identical to the one I rebuilt on a 99.

Yes, it will fit first gens.... third members of elocker diffs are the same in 1st/2nd gen tacomas as well as the locker actuator.

I will test fit on a first gen when I have a chance later on today.

I recall reading an article regarding the difference in toyota actuator. Both may look identical, but the second gen setup have2 larger long stud that is positron slightly off compared to first gen actuator.

Negative, they are identical as far as I could tell, swapped one from a 01 into my 06.

I've looked it up, same as my front locker too. It's Toyota, all they build are big Lego vehicles every part somehow fits another model. Also don't you know you have the same rear diff as a TRD off-road second gen, maybe you should buy an Alfa Romeo.

If you're interested in buying, I can probably make a video of it engaged and disengaged.

    MORE INFO POSTED ON FIRST
    ORIGINAL POST, PLEASE READ!

Update post, will not fit first gen elocker. As mention, maybe earlier second gen use the same actuator from first gen.

Best way is to measured your existing long stud hole as in my original post. Two different size hole, large hole is drilled slightly off compared to first gen/early second gen actuator. Both first, early second and late second gen use the same electrical plug.

    Thank you

Add power and ground to the pin as mention to get the gear to spin one way, change polarity, gear spin the opposite direction. When I got it, my buddy test it this way to verify it was working.

Or just plug into a working harness on a tacoma. I had it plug into a working harness last night when I was test fitting the harness on older tacoma to see if it fit. Press diff lock button, motor spin to engage. Depress diff lock button, motor spin opposite direction, disengage.

So you can say, both way was tested. Motor is work, no issue:thumbsup:

I know how to bench test them. I guess I should have asked how did you apply power?

Buddy have something that look like a starter remote start hand held device with a trigger he rigged. I recall seeing gator clip and fuse. How it's setup, I'm not sure. He was able to power the gear to spin freely and confirmed it's working.

The way I test it after I got it was on a running tacoma. Plugged the electrical harness to tacoma and have someone engage the rr diff lock in the cab.

Ok, I asked because the way you did it is safe. When you bench test with too much voltage, say a 9V battery with leads you can jam the motor stuck which is a huge PITA!!
