I am sure this has been discussed befoer but as TW goes we like to discuss the same thing atleast 5 times :p

no that's fine, just trying to show that your not the only one who's tired of it.
there is also a problem with people posting first gen stuff in second gen threads and vice versa, due to the main page.

Perhaps a different division of topics?

"General Taco Topics" or "Rants" section

    Tacomas
    1 Gen
    2 Gen

    Performance and Tuning

    Suspension

    Electrical and Electronics

    Mods

    "What's the Best..."

or something. Would take a lot of work, though. Not volunteering.

The problem is people can't slow the fuck down and think about what they are doing. All you wet behind the ears instant gratification seekers. That and you can't read.

Mean way to say it, but I cannot argue with you. Anyone that has ever cared to learn, can look at the route on the top of any forum to see what section they are in. It is even a way to quick navigate. But NOOOOOO, we cannot take the time to read and comprehend at that level, we have THINGS TO DO! You know, like ask the same question as the last 4000 people because we cannot search. Then we complain about something that we do not understand, in a thread, right below a post that explains, with proof, that what we think is wrong! And the list goes on.

Please do NOT do away with the home page. That is not the problem. The problem is that people are not taking time to read and understand. I look at the home page all the time. I read the topic and the posted location.

Does it really matter where we post? We are all here to talk and have a good time, and that's whats going on. As you can see, I drive a first Gen. Crazy thing, even the 2nd gen guys have good ideas. I do like checking the other side out, and putting in my thoughts. It's cool man, no need to start a gang war, because we know the outcome of that one! :)

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I posted in the 2nd Gen section once. I felt dirty and violated afterwards. No amount of showering could cleanse my disappointment and icky-ness.

^^^^^ Perfect example. You appear to read this thread as WHO is posting in which forum. The issue is WHAT is posted in each forum. Pop-Quiz. How many forums are there on TW?

OK. Can you think of any reason why it would be helpful to actually post under the CORRECT section of the forum? Are you saying that it would be acceptable to post questions or information about stereo system in the Suspension section? You are saying that I can ask a technical question in the off-road section about lighting and that is OK?

Do you think it will improve the forum to have people navigate to the Suspension forum and have to sort through threads about coolant, paint, lighting, fuel economy, hunting, towing, the party from last night, and girl troubles?

Personally I think there are too many topic levels on this forum, but that tends to happen to most of them over time.

"Why is everyone posting in the 2nd Gen " Is what the name of the thread is. I am not trying to be difficult, but I read the name of the thread. That is what I formulated my response off of. So I "posted" to your "thread".

If I were to guess how many forums there were on TW, I would have to say that quantity does not matter to me; but quality does. This is a great quality site, that I enjoy very much.

    Awesome!

I like the main page because everything is there and I like to read what every one has going on or whats happening. I like that everything is in one place but at the same time if I am looking for something more specific then I search the suspension, lighting, detailing.. etc. If you know what I mean.

I wasn't bitching i was simply asking a question. :p I just think that if everything is in the place it should be easier to find stuff. I dont want to have to search through the second gen section to find stuff on how to paint your grille. It was more of a suggestion on a way to improve my favorite site on the interweb.

Just to throw out an example from a newbie perspective:

was wondering how people have delt with water dropplets on back-up camera (ie, rainX or somethin). I searched back-up cameras and such, and all i got were topics discussing connectivity. Soooo, do I post this question under Auido/Video or 2nd Gen tacos ??

Feel free to call out my stupidity !! :D

No i am not calling anyone stupid. Yea the audio and Video would be where i would put it or in the Technical question area. I just think that if we got it in the right place it would be easier to find. I am still a newb too. :D
