Only friends with tacos near by are a 2nd gen 4cyl and 2016 v6. So outta luck there. I'll pull short term fuel trim on the way home from work if my scanner allows it and report back.

 

So the truck is in limp mode now? Or only when the codes pop?

 

Never limp mode. Just severe lack of power. Codes popped or not. Like if i'm climbing a hill and I start giving it more skinny pedal, it acts like its bogging down/skipping. Like it running outta gas is how it feels. Fuel filter is about a year old

 

Had a friend go through three aftermarket MAF sensors before a good one.

 

But you won't get a MAF code because of a potential fuel problem. However, a "fueling" issue will be felt, due to a Maf related problem.

Wish you had a simple fuel pressure gauge to rule that out.

Does the 2.7L use a different MAF? I imagine so.

 

I might be able to convince a surgeon I work with to let me try his maf sensor off his truck. He's as likely to let me try as he is to tell me to shit in my hat though lol

Yeah I've always heard to just buy OEM MAFs for these trucks as aftermarket is always hit or miss. Granted you pay out the ass, but you're likely to get a warranty on it of some sort if it does fail quickly.

By your explanation I really want to lean towards a fueling problem, combined with your AFR lean spike...curiouser and curiouser.

 

I am thinking, either MAF, vacuum leak, or fuel hose.

In one odd instance, I had my O2 sim fail, and cause a lot of weird codes and idle issues. Once unplugged, back to the normal running with CEL for missing cats.

 

Got some fuel trim numbers. Short term bottom left, long term right. Digital underneath via 2 sensors.

 

FYI. I was out checking my AFE air filter (never seems to be dirty) and discovered my MAF sensor was lose. One screw was almost out. So check that. Romped it around the hood a bit. Not sure if I could tell any difference.

Btw, anybody run without the plug in the bottom of the box? Seems like more hot air to me.

 

That plug, when removed, creates a vortex in the box.

 

Lol. That's the theory. I don't think the engine is starving for air.

 

TRD supercharger, URD 2.85 pulley, AFE stage two intake, magna flow 3 inch exhaust.... i'm a little upset with my numbers. Was the dyno not calibrated properly or is this normal?

Yeah that seems reaaaaallly low, with your set up I'd expect at least 260-280

 

Wait NVM, unless you are regeared, that seems normal for 35s lol

Which gears did you do the dyno run in, @Tacoma SS ?
