Chef refuses to work "under these horrible conditions". Meeting with breakfast served now has to be refunded. Loss of revenue about 2K. Water extraction from carpet, then deodorizing wet carpet will run about $800. Approximately 80 ceiling tile in lower level damaged. $8 each.

Insurance has 2K deductible. Plus rates would increase (again) We will likely not turn this in to insurance.

Asshat will lose his mind. I will re-direct his wrath towards executive chef/kitchen manager who closed last night.

This is my day (so far)

    TGIF.

Asshat going nuts already this morning. Our music (played over intercom) went dead Tuesday afternoon. Asshat had me trying to find out what happened. We're talking on the radio when I mention it's provided by "Spectrum" (cable TV provider) There was about 30 seconds of awkward silence.

    I smell a rat....

So I call Spectrum. After almost 2 hours of being on hold, being bounced from tech support to sales and a few other dept's, they finally let me know Asshat had called them Monday about reducing their bill. He cut everything that he didn't know what it was....ie "100 music channels". They record calls. After questioning who made the call, I was sent an email (w/attachment) that was the voice recording of Mr Personality cussing out the salesman/billing dept.

So....I tell Asshat what happened. He simply made a mistake. I had music service re-activated. He denies ever talking to them, claims they're "making it all up". I forward the attachment to him. He now knows I know for a fact he made the call. He STILL denies doing so. (pathological liar....Thinks everyone else is stupid enough to believe even the most blatant lies)

Anyway...We have an event here tonight. It's a high school reunion...50th....Part of their package includes playing a specific music channel with '60's "oldies". Music won't be activated until Monday. We cannot provide the specified music channel because of Asshat's actions. Event sponsor (35 year member here) just asked me why not. I had to tell him the truth. (WANTED to tell him the truth?)

Yet ANOTHER fiasco caused by the same someone who THINKS they know everything, but doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

Thing is, he knew when we were talking on the radio that he'd screwed it up. He COULD have let me know then. That would have saved me HOURS of time that is in short supply.

    This is my world.

Less than 100 miles until the oil change light goes off, so, changed it.

I do tire rotations with oil changes, so, rotated. New floor jack (last years birthday gift from SIL) and 18v DeWalt 1/2" impact makes that a 20 minute job!

Might as well wash it too. Done!

Now I gotta get ready to go hang with my inlaws. Oh well. I'll drink their beer.

How often do you change diff/trans fluids, Bill?

I've been told 30k miles or more with regular driving, 15k with offroading. And then other people say any time you drive through water deeper than 1', to change it (like what we did at RRG).

I did mine after, no trans though, after LBL meet. Curious if I should do them again soon.

I do mine about every 50K. Done it 2 times....Came out clean and water free both times.

I do my very best to avoid deep water. It's fun but destructive. Wasted more parts and pieces by trying to "swim" a truck....In my Jeep days, it was 4 or 6 starters a year, 2 or 3 alternators, The bearing shop I dealt with still sends me a Christmas card every year.

It IS very fun! But, point taken. The sounds our trucks make after being in water don't sound very good either.

I did my first change at about 35k after LBL. Slightly milky when drained, but not the whole of the fluid at least.
I think I'll stay with at least a 30k regimen, if not earlier due to water.

Thanks for the input, sir!
