I was installing my new XM unit and Head-unit when i came across this connector under the carpet under the driver seat. I haven't the slightest clue what it is.
    Can anyone help?

I had a 98 4Runner and it came with the VIP security system. Under the drives seat was a little black box that was the controller for the security system. It could be for that or maybe a factory amp for the stereo.

This truck had a aftermarket alarm system on it when i bought it and that "little black box" is behind the kick panel on the driver side (Panel Next to your left foot.) But it could be a amp hook up... I couldn't imagine it bein something to difficult cause its only like a two pin plug... the center hole is like a guide.

Yeah - that looks like the BU1 connector for the optional powered seat (Limited Package and S-Runner).

Its not the seat belt plug. The seat belt plug is the white and green wire that you see in the first pic... It has to be unpluged in order to get the seat out. This "Unknown Plug" Had a black cap on it... i pulled the cap off to take the picture.

Just cuz the plug is there doesnt mean the wiring is all there.

Look in the fusebox in the dash, the upper RH socket with 2 prongs is for a 30a fuse to power the windows/doors/seat/mirrors etc. If you have power accessories you may be all set. there is also a 4 prong relay in the back of the fusebox to turn these outputs on.

My 2wd w/o power had nothing, I added the fuse, added the wiring to the back of the fusebox and now I have a 30a fused lighter outlet under my seat to run an inverter. :)

I just found a couple extra relays in the junkyard, came from a geo prizm, so I can play with some other wiring.

As far as I know its the clip for all the electronics behind the bed, could also be the EVAP connection to ecu if its a evap shit on the gas tank.

@Sperrunner I just cleaned mine out with brakleen and it began to work again lol.
