Rear Kings too short?

Just installed some new King rears and I have Dakar leaf pack. I had to jack up axle a little bit to get the lower shock bolts in. Coming home from work I hit a speed hump table thing a little fast and heard a clunk when the suspension unloaded, almost like the shock stopped the axle from drooping enough. Am I wrong or should you have to squish the shock into place when axle is at full droop during install?

On Wheelers website there is no length options just clicker or no clicker....

Thoughts?????? Am I being paranoid? anyone else have Dakars and Kings?

Maybe remove bottom most leaf to start or just drive it more and see if feel/hear it again?

Stock length shocks are too short for Dakars. You need extended shocks - and brake lines.

 

I didn't see an option for extended Kings

• Im sure you are almost fully extended in your picture

 

is there another option for longer Kings? I'd hate to spend another $800 then take a loss on these..maybe trade someone stock pack with add a leaf to lower my rear 1" or so?

 

When I ordered my Kings from Down South Motorsports, I told them I'd be running Dakar leaf packs, so they gave me the +1" version, which I believe just have the longer hinge at the bottom of the shaft. I'm sure you can just replace those yourself.

You can also remove a couple leafs from the Dakar pack to lower it.

 

So these are for about a 1.5" lift?

 

Id say only for stock use. Its a 8" travel shock. It would be best to flex your suspension with your shocks off and measure between the mounts then compare the measurements u got to the kings shocks collapsed and extended lengths.

 

Ok thanks @ACE808. My foxes are Extended 22.30 in. Collapsed 13.70 in. Stroke 8.60. A couple inches shorter so trying to understand what i need for a 2" lift w/ deaver u402. Think i was looking at these model kings.

Yes.

 

My shocks are 27" extended and the Dakar pack almost uses all of that....that shock is way too short
