If it's just a road warrior, you will probably be fine. Not for offroading though, spacer lifts are just for the look. I know lots of people with spacer lifts who are happy with them, but their trucks never leave pavement. It does stiffen the ride a bit, especially at 3 inches of lift. My buddy did a 2 inch on his Tundra and couldn't notice a difference, another buddy did a 2 inch on his Sierra and said it stiffened up but not much.

On a side note, shops LOVE spacer lift installs. It's their bread and butter, huge profit margin. The lift is going to cost them ~$150-200 at retail, and then they charge you $500+ for the kit and 300-500 for 1-2 hours of work on install. Be weary, shop around, there is NO WAY a spacer lift should cost you $1000. My coworker paid $2,000 for a spacer lift, Method wheels, some Nitto 285's, and alignment. That seemed a bit more fair, considering probably $1500 or more of that was wheels/tires

I went to a self serve car wash and saw another Tacoma next to me in the other station. It was lifted like 4" and had nice rims and tires. I said to the young owner "nice truck" and he replied thanks. I was going to ask "what kind of lift do you have?" but upon closer inspection I saw a spacer lift...so I ended it at that.
    True story.

For OP, I have ready lifts 3inch leveling kit. Had a local shop do it for $800 fkatt the parts and everything. So far everything is great and exacrlyt what I wanted, seems like you have the same idea with just wanting some more height and not a off road every other day type. Do what works for you

I don't have a lift on my truck yet. Only had it down to the frame in mud a couple of times. Other than that, it handles anything without a lift. One day I will and I will probably end up with bills or OME. Anyhow. Saw the only lifted Tacoma on Kodiak island. Drove by after he parked and saw spacers. SMH.

Thanks very much to you also. I appreciate your info and your assessment as well. Both yours and All-star780's positions highlight my dilemma. Going to "study on it some...."

If you want to PM me we can go over some other options that will provide you with additional capabilities over stock as well as provide you with the lift you are looking for
