HID and HID Fogs

So i got the 5k 35 high/low H4 DDM and the 5k 35 H10 fog.

The headlights, not too bad. The kit is great, plug and play no problems. But really these things to reflect like ass in the stock housing. I did my best to aim them, but there is that scattered light. It anoys me a tad as well seeing my wierd broken and jagged cut of on the road...but oh well, the look awesome and where they shine they look awesome. Definately need a retro one day....


Anyways, I but the same 5k in my fogs.... Holy shit seriously? It turned my fog lamps into what I feel like giant HID tractor lights. They flood everything 180 degrees in front of me. I can litterally shine light on both houses on each side of the road as I drive down the street. On the interstate Im lighting up every highway sign there is. I mean, they work absolutely great for light...but to be honest thats way too much light and surely that has to be annoying to others.

I tried to aim the fogs, but I dunno. I did it blindly just trying to turn something that was spinning on the end of the housing, similar to the headlights but dont think it did much. I really need to point these down as much as I can.

Anyone have suggestions? Maybe how to aim them, I could have been doing it all wrong. I thought maybe a different bulb, but then it would just be yellow shining everywhere. I didnt buy them to leave them off..but I dunno.

They need a shroud to cover them like the heads

 

As long as the fogs dont blind drives in front or passing you the other way... no worries!

Yeah I got HID's for all 4 as well! You are absolutely right about the fogs though!! I got a 35W 3K kit for the fogs and they are bright as hell! I aimed them down as much as possible but I still think they are to bright at times. I still need to see them from far up the street so I know now they look like to oncoming traffic.

I am currently also looking into some retros for my headlights as well.

Unlike everyone else, I'd say just deal with it. Youre legal, and the amount of light helps you, so screw it. There is always going to be that asshole who's lights make your eyes water while he drives behind you. So why not be that asshole?

The fogs really do help. I can tell a huge different with the stock halogen bulbs compared to when just the headlights are on.

I've got the exact same kit running on my headlights right now. I've got my 3000K fog light and 55W ballasts for my headlights waiting to be installed. I cant wait to see what they look like.

 

Are you sure they are legal everywhere?

 

I bought a kit in the last group buy here and they came with a shroud on them. Not sure if DDM's don't have them but it's a big metal I guess spoon thing that is under the bulb so the light can't shine down (and reflect upward toward oncoming traffic). I'm guessing that's the shroud they were talking about.

 

HID conversion kits are not legal ANYWHERE, nor are they safe for other drivers.
