Flaps or no flaps that is the question

They look ridiculous, but that's not the reason why they ended up in a box in the garage attic like the flaps from my previous 4 Toyota's.

They would get ripped off first time they went off road.

Unwanted. Un-needed. Un-installed. It's about that simple.

 

I have left mine on because I don't want to throw a stone at the person behind me and chipping there windshield, I get mad when it happens to me

 

I'd think about taking them off but they've left big marks in the paint on the flares, so they stay for now

 

If your tires are doing this it is because the tires/wheels are too wide for the fenders. You need fender flares. Mud flaps won't solve the problem. Well over 99% of the pickups and SUV's on the road don't have mud flaps. I've never had a problem.

 

I'm a fap guy......I mean flap.

 

Most states have mud flap laws to prevent this very thing.

 

So the people here saying mud flaps are needed to prevent rocks from damaging windshields , then why aren't mud flaps required on bicycles , motorcycles and cars ???

 

Where does one find these flaps ??

 

Ever see a vehicle without mud flaps in pouring rain? The tail of water that gets kicked up shows the angle that debris is being thrown, now compare to vehicle with mud flaps.. if you can show definitive proof that shows mudflaps are useless I'll take mine right off

 

lol, well bicycles aren't a exactly known for throwing rocks on windshields on the highway. Motorcycle tires don't have a deep tread to carry rocks and throw them like a truck tire. Cars have a lower departure angle for a rock to be thrown.

This. Would suck to cause damage to your ride when a few bolts could of kept it safe.
