BMW's are fairly long exposure and I lit car and backwall additionally. I dont use lightroom to do first edits, I use camera raw in photoshop. Usually pull clarity up a bit and color up a tad, then play with whites and blacks.

Then back in photoshop i'll make some levels / contrast / hue/saturation masks to help what I want to pop a bit.

Haha I did something similar. I used Lightroom and increased clarity, lowered highlights/whites, increased shadows/blacks, and I actually didn't play with the saturation. I applied the GT photo's settings to the other two and adjusted as needed.

Any one shoot a D750 or D810? Looking to move away from my a6000 in a month or so. I am using my camera a lot while at work for landscape/wildlife/botany photos.

I like my a6000 but I have wanted to move to a different system for awhile. I use primes now and would like a decent zoom but the price makes me want to plunge into a better system instead of adding to my current collection. I need great low light performance. I hope to print large photos but probably not to the extent of needing the 810. The reason I am considering the 810 is that apparently the sensor is wayyyy quieter when compared to the 750 (might be good for wildlife?)

Open to other suggestions for cameras. Must be built to endure the elements because it will be used in the field in rain, snow, near/around water (not submerged), may take small drops to the ground, etc.

Not much experience around Nikon cameras, however they seem pretty quiet relative to other full frame offerings. Don't know if the D750 has a quiet shutter setting, I'm sure the D810 does? I'd save yourself the $1000 and get the D750. I shoot mainly wildlife and hardly use my quiet shutter function.

That's where I am at. The only time I would expect the quiet function to come in handy is with shooting deer/elk at <40 yds. I'll be shooting small mammals that won't likely spook since I won't be "sneaking" up on them. I have a strong desire to capture aquatic insects. The 810 looks great but most people seem very happy with the 750.

Yeah in my experience with wild animals if you get close enough to get a good shot, they usually already know your there and don't mind the shutter noise. If you want to be sneaky or in a blind it might be a different story.

I think the new 6DII will be a great camera as well!

Switching platforms is a pretty big investment if you're invested in glass already. What about adapters?

I'll be calling in the elk. So as soon as they hear an unnatural noise they are gone. Not sure if a quiet sensor would hear that though.

It is, which is why I want to do it now vs later. I am not heavily invested into the a6000. I have been holding back trying to decide if I like it enough to dump serious money into it. Right now I have probably $1000 -$1300 invested total in glass and body. Most of it I bought used or it was given to me and I got an adapter for it. I've been in college up to this point. Now I have a good paying job and can freely spend some of my savings without cringing.

I can spend $1000+ on a lens that would probably be similar to the kit lens with a d750. I may be happy, I may not. Or I can spend a bit more, get the d750 with the 24-120 (more range than I have now) and pick up the Nikon 50mm prime. That would basically cover my needs outside of macro but that can wait. Eventually I want a telephoto but again, it will have to wait.

I am in the weird spot of going all in to one system or another. I like the a6000 but it lacks in low light and the colors don't come out true. Which bugs me. I've messed with settings, read books, etc. I just have trouble getting it to perform in dense vegetation that blocks light. I want a camera that I know I'll have in 5 years. Right now, that's not the a6000

I think I'll rent the d750 and a kit lens to see how I like it.

Got the D750 about 6 months ago and love it! Only reason I chose it over the 810 was reports of some (ever so slight) discoloration in daylight photos on the 810, to the red side. I really want to expand into night photography (for the record, I'm no pro, just shooting for our trip records/personal use.) which is what the 810 was made for.

Good to know! I haven't read a bad review for the 750 so that's reassuring. I am also considering the 610. You can get one refurbished for "cheap", and then investing in better glass right off the bat. Then, if I feel it's needed, sell the body on eBay and upgrade to the 750 or whatever Nikon brings out next.

I moved from a7r2 to 810e and regret nothing.

It's hard to beat the sonys in low light however their battery life makes them worthless without having 34 batteries

Good to know! I wondered if the a7 series would help my low light troubles but the lens selection directed me to Nikon/canon. From there the 750 seemed to shine. Most reviews suggesting it for low light situations.

It's going to be a tough decision and I am glad it's not one I have to make soon.

    Are you set on Nikon?

I feel Canon has a better used market for telephoto lenses if your going that route in the future - 100-400 v1, 400 f/5.6 etc. not to mention the new 100-400II can't be touched by another tele zoom. Just some thoughts to consider. Nothing wrong with Nikon at all tho!
