We dont. Soda or Pop is Yankee talk. Down South, soda/pop is known as "Coke". I never really questioned why. Box, bonnet or boot, we can figure out what it all means.

i love my double cab! on my lunch breaks i can go to the back seat and move both seats all the way forward and tilt them forward, then i stuff the back seat floors full of blankets and pillows and kind of make a platform and i lay on top of it. i get good sleep and wake up from a nap feeling refreshed and to roll!i can fold both seats down and have an instant rain protecting table when im out shooting or camping i can close the doors and set the alarm and sleep at the campsite knowing my gear is still back there and not in the open. i can stuff things that i don't want to get rained on in my double cab and still drive comfortably without adjusting my seats. i can put groceries and luggage and dogs . i love my double cab.

Access cab looks great, but if you need a little room for more than one passenger, go dc.

Ive had both AC and DC, just recently traded in a Sliverado for a 2017 SR5 AC and though its taken some adjustment to get use to the smaller interior space, I still prefer my AC due to the longer bed, the truck is my rolling office and I'm always carrying something in the bed of my truck, either for work or play......Just my 2 cents

If I didn't need to babysit my niece, I would have gotten the access cab. The
bed looks too short on the Dbl cab. If I
had another spare car, I would have the
    the access cab right now.

99.9 % of the time it is just me driving to work and back. I don't need the extra seating and would rather have the larger bed. lower initialcost too for the access cab.

My 2nd gen was (is for sale now) an access cab and my 17 is a double cab (short bed). I really can't say to myself which is better. Sometimes I like the bed space and sometimes I like the seats. Seems the split is almost equal. My 1st gen was also an access but at that time I definitely preferred the access as I was doing a lot of construction. Have to wait and see when I go to a gen 4...

The real question is what would you give for an AC with a short bed? That's what I would prefer because my kids are grown and I'm not hauling anyone around except the wifey and groceries. Short bed because I don't want to help you move.....lol!!!! muhahahaaha

To answer question no doubt AC, it still looks like a truck. I get told all the time people love my truck it looks different then all the DC's out there, to me they look like SUVs.

I spent the last twelve years in an 05 DCLB TRD sport. Like any model it has it's pluses and minuses.
    Pluses,
    1. 6' bed for storing surfboards, up to 7'8" diagonally.
    2. Sleeps two comfortably if your under 6', w/leer cap.
    3. Lots of cab room for passengers. Three max on road trips.
    4. Rides like a limo on the highway.
    5. Ample torque through entire power band. Unlike my current TRD AC Sport 6mt.
    Minuses,
    1. Only available in automatic transmission, prefer manual. 4lo 1st gear is geared to high for steep critical descents.
    2. Long wheelbase is awkward on tight mountain roads, but always pulled it off.

Overall, it was a fine truck and would still own one if I needed the cab space.
    Just my experience.

I specifically chose my access cab because I wanted the 6 foot bed for a sleeping compartment, and the DCLB was just too much. Realistically, if the future I'll probably do a DCSB and get a rooftop tent, and the nights where I just need to boondock somewhere I can squeeze in the 5 foot bed. If you plan to haul anyone, the AC is out of the question (unless the 3rd gens got an extra inch of room or something). It's crammed as hell.

I too have owned both. I had to make a couple hour drive last week to carry 10 year old granddaughter to camp. My 31 year old daughter insisted on going with me and the wife. Daughter sat in jump seat entire trip and said she was comfortable. I was very surprised.

Is everyone forgetting you can get a long bed with a DC o_O lacking a long bed issue isn't really an issue.

Remember that DCLB is still an option. I have the DCSB AT, and from my point of view now, I think ACLB MT is the way to go for anyone considering buying a new Taco. I really like that the access cab still looks like a truck and not an SUV with a bed, also, I rarely haul people around.

I have had it in my 2015 AC which was fine, but unfortunately have not had the opportunity to break in the new DC yet.
