Not today. Last time was Korean food.

Need to pick your brain about smoking briskets. Just bought a little offset smoker/grill and want to smoke some shit. Been grilling my whole life, but never fuxed with smoking.

    Here's my write up.

I would try to keep the temp right around 225 as close as I could. When temp stalls at 150 wrap it tightly in 2 layers of foil with the thermometer still in it. Wait till it gets to 190-200 internal. I have a multi-point temp probe that reads 5 points on the probe. My center was at 192 and the outer temp was at 200 when I pulled it off and wrapped it in a heavy towel and put it into a cooler for an hour and a half to rest.

I also cross hatched the brisket on the fat side. Salted it down with kosher salt and left it in the fridge for 12 hours before I put it on the grill. I put the rub on it right before it went to the smoker.

You'll want to use chunks of wood not chips. Also I actually smoked it for about 3/4 of the time. I pulled mine off at 11 hours 40 minutes. But it's really going to be temp not time.

If you need a rub recipe I have one I'll give you to make.

Yup. I, literally, saw less than 5 1080p televisions in the 40" and greater sizes.

And nope. Samsung or Sony. In stores, the Sony seemed to have deeper blacks. Who knows how they were set up, though. Regardless, Sony and Samsung have been my go-to for the main TV since trying other brands and being bummed.

Good stuff. I have a basic idea of where the temp should be for the most part. I do have a rub recipe in mind, saw some ideas on youtube. As for the weight of the meat and cook time, that's where I lack the knowledge. I've never done a brisket. Ever.

Samsung is king. Sony comes in a close second. How far do you plan to place seating from the TV?

There are 2 Samsung models I'm looking at, as well. Same price points.

We have a Samsung in the bedroom and have really liked it. 46" Smart 1080p 120hz. It was $500. The 60hz version was $450. These were on sale at that time too.

Living room has a 60" LG 1080p 120hz non smart. Really didn't matter because every damn box you can think of is hooked to it. ROKU, Android TV, Xbox, Wii, Blueray, cable etc. I like the picture on the Samsung better and will probably go with another one of them next time for the living room. LG has a great picture on it but the Samsung is just a bit better.

I quit buying Sony crap a number of years ago when they decided to start mixing high end and low end parts together to get price points. This info came from my electronics repair guy I had used for years and worked on all my high end audio stuff. His words on my $400 DVD player was to not let him fix it and see if Sony will honor the warranty since you are a few days out of it. He then said to buy the cheapest Sony dvd I could from there on out and why. They did honor the warranty and it worked a bit longer but was a pain in the ass too time wise to deal with them and get it back.

Bedroom had a Samsung in it before this new one also and it had an outstanding picture on it. A flying toy took the screen out on it.

I don't usually buy a tv unless it's on Black Friday.

    Yup, I'm that guy :anonymous:

That's not that close. If there the same price point for 60 or 120hz, then just get the 120hz. Am I reading that right?

I think he means the same $300 difference between them.
