The cook time is the cook time. It's when it hits temp that determines the cook time. You run by the thermometer. Mine was a 6.53 lb flat to kind of give you an idea. Weather, humidity, temp outside all determine cook time.

Check out the smoking thread. Lots of good info in there. This was the first one I had cooked too. Got tired of the shit they were trying to pass off as brisket here. Dry and tough. People over here can't cook brisket. Now Texas is a whole different story. It's a staple there and some of the finest brisket you will ever get.

I put mine on at 0700 and it came off the smoker at 1840. Got served at 2015.

When you take it off the smoker and wrap the towel around the wrapped in foil brisket for it to rest it allows the juices to distribute evenly. If you cut it early it will get dry so don't be temped, let it rest at least an hour and a half. Also look up how to cut one, you need to cut the grain right too.

Yeah, I think it's just personal preference. If there is a lot of action then 120hz. If not then 60hz.

For my preferences and viewing, I know I wouldn't and don't like 60hz. Only real way to see for sure is to test drive it in a store for yourself. Stay there and take the time to find different things you may watch and see how it works out for you.

 

If only others took "go test drive before you buy" seriously...

 

I wouldn't ever buy a tv without test driving it first.

I try to test any large purchase before putting money down. I've not had a choice a few times but generally don't do that.

 

Sometimes you don't and that's ok. It's the ones that buy out on a limb that scare me.

 

I bought my truck without seeing it or driving it. But it was a 2nd gen so that was ok.

 

Risky business IMO, even for a 2nd gen. Maybe it's just me though, I've been gypped before.
