I had ECGS install solid spacers instead of crush sleeves on both diffs. Not worried enough about breakage to do cryo gears. Maybe the next set

 

Installed Toy Tec axle shims. It didn't totally get rid of the noise, but reduced it a little more. Looks like I'm going to get a CV on the front of the shaft.

The differential is angled up more than what the shims alone would provide, because the shackle flip kit also lowered the rear of the axle just like the shims. Because the front of the diff is now pointing WAY up, I over filled the diff with 1/2qt of gear oil to insure the pinion stays lubricated. I plan to switch over to RedLine Heavy Shock Proof gear oil as soon as I get everything worked out. That should also help the pinion stay lubricated.

My shaft is already one piece. And now, the diff is pointing straight at the T-case. The difference between my shaft and other one piece shafts is that I've got a regular U-Joint instead of a CV on the transfer case end of the drive shaft. Replacing it with a CV joint is the only thing left to do.

 

Damn, how annoying is this noise by now? it has to be freaking you out after all this..

I find solace in the fact that It's going to die, and I'm going to be the one to kill it

 

Less than it did before I put in the shims.

It's a weird vibration too. pretty high frequency.

 

The pinion flange is pointing at the transfer case flange now. All that is left is to get a CV shaft.

I want to make sure I have money to install an OME front suspension at the same time though.

 

This is def one of my favorite builds. Maybe its because its a regular cab and i also have a regular cab. This thing must be very capable. I bet it can go just about anywhere. Good job and keep up the good work!
