Finally got around to fixing the dent in the rear of my bed. Thanks to Randy at Utebed.com for his great service.

 

finished blacking out other headlight internals and tried smoking out rear taillight then realized I should have taped off an area for the reverse light to shine.

 

C4 fab. It rubs a little but I put some packaging tape on the tailgate and mount until the 3m door edge protector I ordered arrives.

 

Thanks for the link. It looks like the universal bracket link you sent does not include the hardware to mount the bracket to the factory roof rack, or did I miss it? If it is not included with the bracket, can I bug you to let me know where you sourced that mounting hardware?

 

I did a DIY on board pressurized water tank today using 4" diameter by 4.5' abs pipe. Just have to figure out how best to attach it to the bed if the truck using the stock rail

 

No hardware included. I picked up 6 6mm stainless steel bolts and nuts to attach the awning. Took the mount and bracket and found one that fit. Picked it all up at my local hardware store (Ace).

Took the mall crawler up into the mountains today to go to an outdoor shooting range. Turned out there was a fire ban and we couldn't use FMJ ammo. So my friend and I took advantage of having a pickup and loaded up a bunch of trash. Makes me sick how people can drag stuff out there and shoot it up and leave it behind. Idiots. Anyway I averaged 23 mpg today!
Tonight my neighbors thought I bought my wife a TRD OR! My cousin came over and we installed my "old" Tonneau cover that had a little hail damage.
Since I bought my SR5, my cousin bought his OR and my brother just bought a Sport with a manual trans! I should be getting a commission from Toyota!

Did you follow someone's write up? I purchased a water fire extinguisher that basically uses this same idea.

 

That's one of the positive things about living in high altitude, great gas mileage! Come down to sea level and the mpg will follow. But I did squeeze 20 mpg on one trip. Mostly averaging high teens.

 

I bought my truck in New Jersey but live in New York. Do I get the state inspection from a Toyota dealership or my mechanic?? I have platinum warranty.
