ups should be delivering my cai today. then its off to the dealership to install the thing. I know I could do it myself but I would rather pay and have them be responsible. I got a good deal from trdparts4u.com. they shipped it out the next day. I will definitely buy my SC from them. you get that ebay price but the confidence of buying parts from a dealership. enough of my commercial back to your regularly scheduled program.

It was $364. that includes shipping. 100 bucks cheaper than the dealerships best offer. I am going to take it to El Cajon Toyota. I am not sure on the install price I will post that info as soon as I have the work done.

I think your right. I just had to fork out 145.00 for the install. I feel like they charged a little two much but thats how it goes. the problem is that I am not that confident in my mechanical skills to be messing around under the hood of my baby. Also I am sicker than shit right now and its in the 90's outside.

here are some pics even though you all know what they look like.

No prob, I've been there. Had them install my Catback. And after I installed Headers my self, with some help from TACOROCK, I felt like an idiot for letting the stealership take my cash. But hey, that intake looks sweet. Im sure you are stoked... Enjoy....:D

yeah I am a little pissed about the price. I have 3 Toyota's and all of them get service at the dealership. might give some neg feedback on my next survey. that will get their attention. seemed like i was getting taxed cuz I had my own parts. I guess it was a lesson learned. the bright side is I don't have to worry that I did something wrong. thanks for the comments guys.

tacomaman thanks it does sound nice.

My 40 goes on this thursday. Can't wait, its one of the 40's I had on my GTO which was totalled. Only got about 400 miles on it, hopefully I get a few more than that with it on the taco.

Did you notice any significant gains. I'm getting my TRD cai tuesday and I'm installing it with my Banks exhaust for only $200. I got a great deal from the same shop that did my lift. Can't wait...

How do you replace the air filter on the TRD CAI setup?

all you do is unscrew the band clamp on the filter, and pull it off.

    Silverbullet,

Could you post a movie clip so we can hear how the CAI and the 40 F/M sound together at idle and at WOT or near it? It will serve me well if I could hear how yours sound.

I have TRD CAI on my 08 Taco and a Bassani cat back. This weekend the delearship will swap out the Bassani with the TRD cat back. If I am not happy with sound of the TRD I may contemplate on replacing the muffler with 40 F/M.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey thanks for the website silverbullet! Dealership was charging me $4,500 for the 4.0 V6 supercharger (and that's retail! Which does not include installation, taxes or the supercharger fit kit).

On the trdparts4u website the price is $3,412. Plus $338 for the TRD supercharger fit kit, plus $100 for shipping...so total is 3,850. And since it's shipping from Texas, no sales tax!!! So the price is still 650 below the retail.
