Started the process of flushing my radiator which ended in me stripping the plastic plug (whatever not a big deal). Instead I just disconnected the bottom hose to let it drin out that way. While I was draining it I was inspecting it a little closer and saw it wasn't in the best shape. So now I'm looking to replace it and clean this one and keep it as a back up. Now comes the question what's the best quality replacement? I've done some research and have heard decent things about Koyo and Denso. I don't want to spend more money if I don't necessarily have to and will be fine with the OEM if that's the best option. I'm also unsure of realable providers. I tend to rely Amazon. This will go in a 2000 sr5 V6 manual.

I got a Denso a few months back and I haven't had any issues. I got it from rockauto with free shipping around 130$ give it take.

Can you tell if there's any performance increase? I think that's what Koyos selling point is.

find a local radiator repair shop and see what they say and how much they can get you a radiator that THEY would stand behind, after all, that is their business.

The reputable mechanic that has his own shop (that's busy w/ good cars there) and who gives me solid advice said to go Koyo only for non-oem. OEM is $180 on partznet.com so it's not much more than aftermarket rads.

    Koyo radiators = performance increase.

That's only if you also buy $75 worth of a special radiator fluid. It has a secret chemical that actually lightens the weight of the water. Lighter weight water = more horsepower.

    Yeah, right.

Talk to @gunny1005 at Camelback Toyota. If you're going to go OEM.

    Reserected from the dead.
I go thru rads quite often. I have no issue with any of the aftermarket rads. Ant rad in the $100 range will be fine.

I consider them consumable parts. The cost for a new rad vs. Paying for flush is about the same.

I put in a Spectrum from Pepboys 4 or 5 years ago. No issues with installing or performance. Paid around $100.
