FYI for the group-- my 2016 was recalled (before I bought it) and I had to wait for the parts to come in before I could actually pick it up. I got a call from my salesman last week and picked it up on Friday, so it looks like the parts for the diff recall are starting to roll in.

Best of luck to you guys!

Parts have come in in very limited quantities, mostly to repair dealer stock and trade in vehicles, the fact that yours was being sold to you is the one reason it was fixed soon. In Mid June Toyota shipped out limited parts to dealers, but most of those trucks that were fixed were unsold stock and traded in vehicles, very few consumer own trucks have been fixed, and very inconsistently.

Same here, gave a dealership a bad Yelp review and they contacted me and made it right within 24 hours.

What did they do for you to make it right? If you don't mind me asking I'm debating if I should do the same thing also.

They basically blew me off the first time and stated the issue with my 2015 was typical of all tacomas. I needed new rubber around the window due to wind noise. I posted a review of how they blew me off and the service manager called me the next morning and had me bring the truck in immediately to look at it again. They agreed after driving it they would order new rubber around the drivers window and they also mailed me $100 gift card. I took my bad Yelp review down after that and posted another how they immediately solved my issue and went above and beyond to make it right. It worked out for both of us.

So I just filed a FTC complaint. The CEO assistant of Toyota North America Motor Sales was supposed to get back to me on Friday by phone she waited till 7pm at night to send me an email to tell me that she was going on vacation and she had no updates for me  great customer relationship  So I decided to take it upon myself and file FTC complaint so my complaint has been added onto anyone else's who has called the FTC.

Well I'm entering the 4th week without my truck. I assume next Monday I need to renew the contract on my loaner, but I really need to talk to them about getting me out of this Rav4. It's just not working for me, nor is it an acceptable trade-off for my truck. I was told I'm on a list for if a truck becomes available, but I've yet to hear anything. I may have to ask to speak to the service manager or something.

Has anyone else here brought back there loaner for something else?

I took my truck in for its 10,000 mile checkup. It was on the recall and had a very minor leak. When I say minor I mean I had to hunt to find it. They tightened my bolts and sent me on my way. I'm not all that worried about it. I'll continue to keep my eyes on it and if it ever gets worse I'll get them to do something with it, but I feel safe for now.

My dealer had a boatload of Tacos in the repair lot, though. I feel for those people.

Makes perfect sense.Chinese steel is known to be of inferior quality to Japanese and U.S steel. And to think they are now making passenger jets in China.

Got my recall letter a few weeks ago and finally took it in. Told them I didn't notice any leaks and thankfully, they didn't find any either. They re-tightened the bolts and sent me on my way. Only took about an hour. And it only took them 20 minutes to try to sell me a Tundra TRD Pro, however the $55k sticker price kept me away.

Called on Friday and my Advisor told me that they are knocking out about 20 Tacomas a week or so, but I was fairly low on the list as they are trying to get trucks out to people who have been waiting since May.

Sucks, but it's at least understandable. I hope some of you peeps here start getting your trucks back this week.

I was told that Toyota corporate is keeping pretty tight control over how parts are used. Procedure
Is that specific parts are ordered for each truck as the problem is identified. The dealer has a specific time frame that is very short to fix the truck once the parts fo that truck are in or Toyota will not pay for the loaner. So it seems like dealers do not control the order of fixes once parts are ordered. This is from a service manager. The dealers are also frustrated. Any other insights?

I am wondering if enough complaints to NTSB about this would NTSB force Toyota to expand the recall to the off roads?

I think it's a matter of when not if by their definition with pictures of what a leak there is. They've set the parameters and will have to fix 'em via warranty or recall in my opinion.

    See build page.
I got a call today from my case manager. She said she did some calling around and reached my local dealer, spoke to the service writer that I was dealing with. Supposedly I am #4 in line and that the estimated time for parts and repair will be 3 weeks from today. I also met a guy at the rent-a-car place on Friday (3 days ago) who was returning his rental because his 2016 Tacoma (rear diff recall) was completed. We spoke briefly. He said his recall repair took a total of 4 months from the time he turned in his truck! He said the work that was done involved new gasket, new bolts that required re-drilling for the use of over sized bolts! That something new to me, I haven't read anything about re-threading the housing for use of bigger bolts. Ill report back once my recall is completed.
