What I think im going to do is bolt the tent directly to the cap, without a roof rack. I want to eventually have a internal skeleton bolted to the bed bolts, and almost touching the cap, for some extra support. The tent is ~105lbs, and I am 230. I hope/think the cap can hold that weight

i think your cap is fine, static weight is not a problem for caps. I had 2 people and my tiny pup in the tent at one point and no bends.

 

I will need your help, when i do this route eventually.
