I rapidly disengaged the clutch while applying liberal amounts of the skinny pedal in the rain from a stop for the first time yesterday. AKA did a burnout. The whole truck shook like crazy with wheel hop/axle wrap. I know a AAL will stiffen the rear leafs and help this. Anyone have the budbuilt track bar? Is it worth $400?

Did you turn off all the atrac, lsd, and traction control befre attempting such a thing? Because ive had No issues in mine doing burnouts/donuts.

yes all off. maybe the sudden clutch drop made it so violent. You have a manual or auto?

Auto, but i used to do it in my 2014 offroad manual just as easily. Might not have been as slick as you assumed on the pavement.

I got axle hop all the time on heavy throttle, its embarrassing when you're pissed and want to speed off. (auto)

The track bars may solve this but in reality you want the weakest link to be axle hop rather than the clutch grabbing too aggressively all the time. Trac bars are more for offroading in our world, not acceleration.

I don't think its an issue, its just a characteristic of the truck.

Fair enough and I agree. My 5.0 Mustang and 370Z would sometimes do it as well. Not something I do regularly if at all but sometimes its fun. haha. I have owned all generations of Tacoma and none of them did it. But then again those were all lifted with aftermarket stiffer leafs when purchased. This truck is brand new.
