I'm looking at the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24, when I finish my 300BLK build.

Just mentioning the word ACOG costs $300, non-refundable:(

The ones you will likely want are all expensive($1k+), but sometimes you can find used ones pretty cheap. $700-$800 for a decent condition TA31. Trijicon isn't the only company that makes prismatic sights, though.
I guess it really depends on your budget. I always hate asking people what they want to spend, but that's easiest way to point someone in the right direction.

Notched the tube and got the stock attached along with the push button sling release. Next is the scope and different mounting system

A clay pigeon at 100 yds is doable with a 2MOA Aimpoint. Should be doable with iron sights for that matter.

I picked up a 9mm lower recently. Planning on a pistol build. Any advice on stripped uppers? I'm figuring a slick side upper would be the cleanest looking, just a cheap DPMS or whatever. Not sure I want to pay the extra for a QC10 or similar upper with the smaller ejection port.

For looks, but that's all I can think of. If I'm ever going to do a 9mm build, for sure going to spend the money and go side charging. Haven't seen a monolithic upper 9mm build yet, just some thoughts.

Yeah, I don't know. Guess I'll look around online for some inspiration. I have a CZ Scorpion, so a 9mm AR is a little redundant, but I'm tired of destroying polymer CZ mags. Thinking about selling the CZ to fund this build.

I assume you mean the feed lips? If so have you given the PGS/Manticore steel feed lip mags a shot? Bit expensive compared to OEM ones but they go on sale from time to time. I still need to pick a couple up myself

I actually have a couple of those on the way. I'd love someone like Lancer to come out with CZ mags as well.

    Bingo, those are awesome.
But for sure I would really love Lancer to do a polymer/steel feed lip cz mags, that would be awesome.

lol Yey don't build another cz, or just sell it. Be different, go .45... if you keep the cz that is.

So I just picked up my can since it took a year and a day for the stamp. Put it on the AR, go to the range. Load up, fire. Turns out I have purchased a grenade launcher. Range office comes over, gets it, he is familiar with my supressor, goes through the process signs me off as good to go. Another grenade. Fucking thing is going back to Surefire. I am fucking furious!!!!

Maybe if you told us what the actual issue is we could help....

The fact you say it worked fine on a 10/22 but gave issues on a AR would leave me more towards something wrong with the AR than the can. Since 22lr and 223 are the same bullet diameters after all. But what was the actual problem....

IMO the .22 doesn't have the pressure that the AR has. I had to get a Surefire flash suppressor adapter for the can to click onto. Not really sure what the problem is, but I have put it on 5 times on the AR and every time it fires off. Went back, re-read the directions and I determined that I am doing everything right. The range guy that watched me do it said the same thing. He feels its a difference in the flash suppressor/can mounting that's the issue.

I agree as that is what I determined already. I just wanted to make sure I was tightening it down correctly, which was determined I was. I am taking both the flash suppressor mount and the can back and telling them to mount it on any AR they want and show me that I am incorrect. If the cant determine anything of value, they can send it back to Surefire and have them fix the issue. The problem lies in that the stamp is connected to that particular can, so its not like taking back faulty watch or a pair of pants. The serial number has to match my paperwork, which I am sure they are aware of.

Gave this a rough sight in and then my cousin wanted to set a shoot stage in the woods so I got to run it through the paces.
At 50 yards I was getting close to the target but never connected (2" steel) and then after station 1 it was consistent hits (each station was a different shooting position and yardage).

I did find out that I get failures if the mag is resting on a barricade/other object, and on 2 of my 32 round mags the last round doesn't feed correctly.
Overall really happy with this for it being a 4.75" barrel, it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun suppressed.
