That's good setup, I've shot a number of them in different calibers. As a factory gun it works really well as a precision platform. The 308 will work teach you a lot about reading wind at distance. What glass are you looking to put on it?

Personally there are things about it I would change but that has more to do with fit and personal preferences.

Well looking at a Vortex 6x24 -50 scope mounted on a 20moa rail and also using a anti cant bubble

I've got a DOPE book that I already use to log windage and elevation changes . I also use orange streamers on the target to read the wind down range

I’ve got a 6.5 Grendel in an AR platform, fun rifle and can find ammo that's not too unreasonable. Always found the Creedmoor interesting as it was designed for competition.

Just humid here. Supposed to be 20% chance of rain and, in normal climates that means 80% chance it won't, but here that means it's going to do something here or close to here.

This was at 200 yards with my modified .308 Savage axis using 150 grain and then 168 grain . the tight groupings are 150 grain

The orange target decal is 3" dia , the inside circle is 1.5" dia. and the diamond Bullseye is 3/4" dia . the grouping inside the 1.5" ring and diamond bullseye are 150 grain the others to the far right are 168 grain

If we're talking about a 300 Blackout, that's a .308 bullet stuffed in a .223 case, very versatile with a wide range of bullet weights. The Grendel is a 6.5 more of a one off. Don't think that they're that popular.

Got ya. When my Son was 11 I bought him a 260 Remington youth model six. Good accurate rifle. He is saving for my future Grandson.
