Too poor to list anything interesting.
Smoke belly for a bit then finish in the oven for crispies. Mmmm...

I don't have one. I am going to try the dryer vent first.

Most will be bacon, it is all about the cure. Smoking is just to add the smoke goodness, many take the internal temp. to 150 but even that is not required. The maple syrup half will of course all be bacon. My favorite way to cook homemade bacon is thick cut laying directly on the grill grates. The savory half will be half bacon. The rest I will cube up into about 3/8" squares and pan fry. The grease will be used for about any and everything LOL. The chunks will go on salads, baked beans, green beans, scrambled eggs, etc.

Again IMO it is all about the cure. I have always wet brined it but next belly will finally try dry brine. I think, happy with my brines although always room for improvement.

Ok, I have successfully modded my GMG DB.

If you have a none wifi model, you can go stand next to the grill, with it on, and see if you get a wifi signal from it. If you see something like “GMG...” than you have a wifi chip and can turn your smoker into a wifi model for $9.

    1. Pull your control panel.
    2. Look for a wifi chip (between the two boards, clearly labeled “Wi-Fi”)
    3. Get antenna and cable (I ordered from Amazon, two pack for $9). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WGMY7LP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    4. Discountect Power -> Remove control board -> Unplug top two white connectors
    5. Plug cable into said chip (I removed the top screw and loosened the bottom, that holds the circuit boards together, then pulled them apart just enough to rotate the boards).
    6. Find spot to mount antenna, I went with the back side of the hopper. I have seen several people relocate and use a bigger antenna on the wifi models for better signal.
    7. Fallow the instructions to connect and update firmware.

You now have wifi on your GMG in less time than it takes to drink a beer.

DISCLAIMER: I have heard conflicting reports about warranty, GMG told me this wont void the warranty. This mod is not intended for you to buy a non-wifi to save money and do this. There is no garuntee that your new GMG will have the same wifi chip in it. If you want wifi, then buy wifi. If you bought non-wifi and later regretted it (Or just want to play with it) and you happen to get lucky and have a wifi chip, then proceed at your own risk. I take no responsibility for you or your grill or the number of beers you drink to do this mod.

Correct, it seems so for some models. Mine was bought June of last year. Some guys on pelletheads.com said theirs was the same and only a few months old.

The password to connect to the wifi is your serial number, which is on a green plate on the back side of the grill.

Yep, it worked at close range. Antenna ordered. I may need some clarification on the install hookup.

thank you so much for this. The WiFi model was an extra $150 or so? wtf! Just for an antenna!??

Glad I could help. If you need me to take pics of the antenna connection, I can. It's the only little gold circle (super small) on the corner of the wifi chip. Just move the top board out of the way and you can easily access it.

Next mod for me is to lift it and put on new tires. There is a guy on the GMG unofficial Owners page that makes a kit. 6" lift and tractor tires... tonka tractor that is..

I don't have a GMG, but that is a pretty badass contribution to the community of people that do, @Chipskip .

    Helluva find.
