I did DIY with a @HomerTaco mesh - no epoxy needed when installing his and the mesh is aluminum.

Nah, bought them off the guy selling them in classifieds. I hit them with the wire wheel to clean up the edges, primer, and the paint with "hammered" paint effect. If had to do again I'd just buy them pre-painted...lol...I'm not the kind of person who is patient enough to let paint dry plus just don't have that kind of time now days.

I think I'll go with a whole new grill, color matched with the mesh... looks pretty damn sharp methinks!

This is bedliner on the grill insert and lower bumper. Was pretty simple.

It takes 2 mins to remove the grill from the truck, and maybe 10 mins to remove the inner section from it. Way easier than all that taping.

@bluezzy did you ever change your grill? The previous owner put the same one on my truck and I'm just not lovin' it. I think the aluminum combined with the silver is too much. I have thought about painting the billet with satin black spray paint, but I'm just not sure how that would look.

I think I'm going to remove mine and plasti-dip it black. At least if it looks bad I can just peel it off. I'm very tempted to do the lower center part of the bumper too, just like in post #24.

Looking at your pic makes me want to remove my bug shield too.

You talkin about the whole bumper or just that center part? I think the whole bumper being black would probably be too much.

The body shop tells me it would take $650 for them to fix that!

I don't doubt it, they probably want to take the bumper off to repaint it. I think I would shop around some, maybe check some tech schools where they teach auto body repair.

they said the reason why is because the bumper has a slight texture to it from the factory that is hard for them to reproduce.

They do have a slight orange peel like texture to them, maybe that makes them hard to paint or something. That does remind me of one time when I was talking to the owner of a local body shop, we were talking about bumpers and he told me he "sends them off" to be refinished. I have no idea where he sends them to, but there must be some type of shop that specializes in painting plastic parts.

yeah the mesh that the kits come with aren't what i'm looking for though. was looking more for the hexagon mesh which is available in the sheets for like 20-30 bucks

You should email or call the company then. He does have more than what is shown. It may take longer but when I got mine he had the honey comb style in his inventory.
