I take my Taco out a burly 4x4 rd every week to go rock climbing -ropes not rock crawling
Truck is covered in mud in the winter months and dusty dirt in the summer.
Old Tacoma I gave up, new one I want to at least hit the manual car wash on the way home.

I bought some Meguires spray wax to assist in keeping it clean but am wondering which soap to use prior to a once or twice a month wax job?

    Thanks!
    Don

Whatever they spray in the tunnel wash. It works just fine for the truck, and my previous trucks, etc. I pay a detail company to come out twice a year and put a nice exterior wax job on the truck. After 8 years my old 2003 Tacoma still looked damn near new and that was with many miles of offroad travel.

I like Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss.

But then again I also bought a bottle of their Mr. Pink to try out on the 2 bucket method since I don't have a foam cannon.

Citrus gets off the heavy stuff well, I let it soak for a minute first though. Make sure you dilute it correctly or it will remove wax.

I prefer not to do maintenance waxing; I do use the Meguiars Ultimate wash and wax, though.
I prefer not to rub the paint when it's contaminated. I even use a 80 mph and a leaf blower to dry; finish with a plush microfiber to daub any leftover water.

Prior to waxing, I clay mitt and do minor corrections.

I like Chemical guys stuff. I use their Mr. Pink wash and am pleased with it.

Turtle wax, wash and wash gel in a bucket and some chem guys spray wax. My buddy does a full cut and buff for me whenever I want it so I usually don't have to work hard to clean the truck.

Same, take it to a decent drive through and maybe wash it a couple of time myself when the weathers nice. Then get a clay bar detail by a pro twice a year.

I hope not a cut & buff on a regular basis?, that's what you make it out to be and these trucks may have 2 coats of clear on them and whenever you cut and buff you are taking the clear coat off, jus saying, be careful....

    all tore up already
Does rain count? In all seriousness, 2 times a year the truck gets serious wash clay sealant and wax. After that water is about all needed

No my trucks been cut once but a normal buff is done about every six months. My cruiser just got repainted so it'll get it's first smoothing cut soon and that'll probably be it for a long time.

I have two buddies that are professional detailers, haha without them I wouldn't know shit. They're the ones that talked me into washing my trucks at all haha.

    None as of yet
DI water (spot free rinse) pulls dirt right off. I'm lucky to have unlimited access to it at my work and hook my pressure washer with a foam cannon to it using meguiars wash and wax. That combo pulls most residue and only sticky stuff needs to be hand washed off.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I use this for my regular washes, including the post off-road trips.

Works well with a foam cannon, too.
