Quicksand paint

i have small spots of paint chipped in several places on my 2016 tacoma. It's quicksand color. Anyone know how I can get a Can of paint in quicksand for touch up?

 

If you want a quick and pretty nice touch up, check out Dr. Colorchip. Google it. It'll turn out pretty good but you'll still be able to see it up close. No blobs and easy to apply. Or you can get touch up paint from your dealer. My salesman gave me a small can as part of Toyota Care. If you want a level, professional repair, you'll need to let the pros handle it or wet sand better than I do. My last wetsanding attempt cost me a $500 respray of an entire hood. Good luck.

Yes, I don't think it would look right (match) if you don't.

 

FYI I've found it's better to use the small oem bottles of touch up paint. You can use it to fill in the chip with a couple coats a day over a week or so until it is raised. Then you can wetsand it smooth and polish the spot. Most times if you are careful you can't even tell there was a chip.

 

Was wondering about small chips, also, with spray paint.

 

I think this company also offers a touch up pen.
I may just get both.

the chrome bumper caps on a quicksand truck bother me, and I got my first scratch on the fender

 

Toyota dealers sell touch up paint pens that come with a little brush like nail polish, they have all oem colors and usually about $10

 

For small chips I spray a small amount of paint on a piece of plastic and use a fine tipped hobby brush. The brushes on the touch up tubes are huge compared to the one I use.

The real question here is are you a professional modeler? If not, you have no business with those brushes!

 

The quick answer is it may look good without wet sanding.....but it depends on several factors so my advice is to give it a go and see if you need to or not.

 

Not, but I used to do custom painting on HO scale trains and between an air brush and those fine brushes I learned a lot about painting.

 

Never noticed them on my 17, now I have to look . . .

Just sprayed a few small parts with the aerosol cans from automotive touchup. I am very impressed with something out of a rattle can.
Layed the clear down a little thick so I could wet sand it if needed. ALthough..I may not because looking at my front bumper, it has a small amount of orange peel(factory) and matches fairly well.
