That's what I had for 6 years before the Taco. It's not flashy, but at least it's a truck.

:rofl:I was totally expecting a Yaris also. I really dislike this Rav (to put it mildly), but it certainly could be a lot worse.

I got my truck back after 78 days. They told me only 5 of the 90 trucks they have on the lot got the parts. Apparently Toyota did not make enough of the parts so they're letting the people who have been in a loaner the longest get the parts first. I was the first out of the 90 to drop off my truck so I got mine back. My rep told me that there is an allocation or something along that line on the parts at the moment and they don't have a eta on the rest of the parts they need for the rest of the trucks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that during the 78 days I opened a case with Toyota Corporate and they could not offer me any incentives not even extended warranty or anything along those lines. They told me if I could get someone else who got that offer to three way in with me and say they got it by opening a case due to a recall I could get it.

62 days with no end in sight. I'm #2 on their list for fixes but who knows?
I have the delight of ripping the guts out of Camry Sport though. :frusty:

Again....Textbook example of "just in time" manufacturing biting a company in the ass. Just enough parts to build / sell... not enough to repair failure on a grand scale that's sure to grow.

I had my dealership look at the weeping diff on my off-road when I had it in for the 20000 mile service. The dealer order a new gasket for it and will be installing it tomorrow while I drive around a rental.

Kudos to you. It's now 74 days for me since i last drove my truck because of the recall. How was the process and how long until you lit a fire under toyota's ass?

I had an 03 sve before the taco. Talk about a maintenance nightmare. Keeping the ECU happy so it would boost was no easy task.

I thought I was the only one who hasn't got his truck back until I found all of you! I took my 2016 in for a routine oil change May 11, less then 8,000 miles. After waiting 3 hours I called, they said I had to talk to a certain guy, he finally called me and told me I would have to drive a rental. Enterprise put me in a Chevy Cobalt, after two weeks I complained and they put me in a Ram, hate it, but better then no truck! I got the recall notice in June. 3 weeks ago, they phoned me and said my part has been released. Last week, they said, they don't know when the part will come in, I said, give me a peace of cork and I will make a gasket! In the mean time, my truck was recalled again for the crank sensor, that is strike three, my truck was already in a week last year for a complete dash replacement. This has put me way behind on a house remodel project. I never should have traded in my 2011 base Taco, now that was a truck. I think this Taco is going to go bye-bye!

IMG_0280.jpg I've been following your thread 3 weeks now and it brings me humor each day to this ridiculous situation. Thank you for the great information and individual stories. Thought I'd share mine at this point. Interestingly on a Friday in June I took my 2016 taco in for its 15k service although it was not quite at 12k. Service completed. No mention of recall. Differential leak marked green, not red, not yellow but green. Received official recall letter 3 days later on Monday. Looked under her and yes "seeping". Called and told no fix. We'll let you know. Told them it was leaking. Said bring her in and we'll give you a rental. Didn't realize at that point the extent of this situation. Asked why they didn't mention recall and marked differential clear. Told if they told everyone they'd have a lot full of tacos. Fast forward 3 weeks and they do. Also told they didn't know when recall came out. BS 2 mos earlier. Told leak could develop in 3 days. Again BS. Granted I didn't trust this dealership in first place as I've had issues with service before but certainly don't now. Only one in 35 mile radius. Pure convenience. I'm in my 4th week now without my taco. Last weekend went to get a few things out of her and mostly to see what shape she was in. Now moved offsite with 51 others and counting. Agreed that 1% affected is just idiotic reading these posts. They told me they are driving and washing them periodically. That taco hasn't moved except to it's resting spot. So here's a pic of the taco graveyard and my diff. My question is do all tacos come out of these two plants? I want to trade for one manufactured elsewhere if that is possible. Actually I'm getting used to the Jeep Renegade Limited I'm in if it had a little more power. My other question is at what point are they suppose to drain it? They told me they would when parts came in but my fear is they get those parts and then decide there is internal damage because under the 2 liters and they are waiting on parts again. I'm just concerned mine is a 2016 and has had this issue for awhile since thought to have to check the differential on a new taco didn't cross our minds. Since I was able to suspend XM for two months, seems logical Toyota Financial could also suspend paymentS on a truck I can't drive. Wishful thinking. I plan to file the complaints suggested but was waiting until 30 days since that is one stipulation in the CA Lemon Law whether or not that would ever apply or not. I'm with some that this taco will never be right. I bought three tacos now for reliability. I want the 13 back.
