What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

or your bolts are longer than stock

 

Hmm. How could the bolts even be too long to tighten down? The bolts would just stick out a little further, but they should tighten down. The holes go all the way through.

I don't know that I would trust stacked washers for something like my brakes.

 

Stock bolts

The bolts go through the caliper but thread into a closed hole on the hub. The bolt hits the bottom of the hole leaving the caliper loose.

Exactly what I was thinking about the washer idea. Not sure if I trust it

 

I just ran out to the garage and double checked on the spare spindle, and the threaded holes for the caliper clearly go all the way through.

You are most certainly correct. Hole goes all the way though the spindle.

I have no idea what's going on. The bolts thread in easy as pie. Just before the point they should get tight on the caliper, they stop. I could probably force it, but that how I always break bolts. Ha ha. Going to pull it all apart and clean/inspect.

No clue.

I know someone is running a 1 inch body lift on here, does anyone know what is needed besides the pucks? Such as any types of extensions?

 

I've got one, just needed a spacer on the steering column.

 

How bad does the lift stand out?

 

Yep, it's because the stock setup never touches that part of the thread so they get rusty and gunked up.

 

put spare pods i had on the rack.

 

Not bad, had to make an adjustment on the front bumper to fill the gap though.

 

Not too shabby. My Expos have my truck sporting some decent rake without the RTT, but it's all good.

I think 2" or 3" would stick out like a sore thumb.

 

Looks good, I couldn't do anything bigger than 1 inch I hate body lifts.

 

Tundra bolts are a hair shorter. But the tacomas work no problems

 

Tore into the front of the truck
Installing ac condenser, dryer, lines
Wasn't able to install all lines but hopefully I can take it to a mechanic tomorrow and get ac going.

 

I had to cut mine down

 

I was aware of this issue, so when I purchased the Tundies at the wreckers, I specifically asked for the mounting bolts. Good thing I did.
