thats what the magnet is for though lol.
don't disagree though. Just an FYI if you're concerned for that you should also consider the oil depending how much milage you have.
I've got 11 000km on mine and still see a tiny bit of metal in the oil. was told full break in where you won't see anymore is 10 000km and I haven't had the oil changed since 6k.

On the magnet I can't find evidence to show the kind of magnet necessary to create an effective magnetic field inside the diff through the case. I'd love to get a plug with a magnet on the inside. Any ideas?

I did the oil yesterday at about 1200km.

Also ordered the TRD oil filter and the upgraded cabin air filter. Took a peak and was surprised to see no carbon! Just paper. To get the carbon one they had to bring it in from Cali and it's going to take a week.

ya I did oil change at 2000km, 6000km and will be doing another at 16 000km, then 26 000 I'll do a change and get a sample to send for testing to see how it is at 10 000, if still good I'll do factory suggestion of 16 000km.

the magnetic field coming from it isn't supposed to magnetize the whole thing. Just the metal filings will be heavier and sink down and should be grabbed.

I'd love to see your sample results.

Agreed on the magnet. I've read that it doesn't work well on canister oil filers and those are much thinner walled.

    What did you do?

Engine oil has no magnet as shouldn't have much metal and the filter is for that.

Haven't done any other fluid changes. Going to wait a bit more before I do them.

What are you using for a magnet?
