I just did the calico trip. Was looking forward to the big group out there, but now there's this on the same day, so I'm going with nice and cool with some fun trails over going back out to desert to sweat my balls off, and probably not even driving the trail again (no locker or winch).

It looks more like a hiking/camping thing then off-roading or am I mistaken?

Its all of the above. If youre not into the offroading (San G campground to big bear lake), then there are hiking trails nearby and Jenks Lake to fish at too. Whatever you want to do.

@BLKTRUCK Oscar, can we have it so that before a "group leaves" for a trail, that there be some sortof "meeting point" and the designated meeting point is at a particular campsite and time so that everyone is on the same page? For example, everyone going on a particular run meets at campsite "22" at 9am or whatever? The point being is that everyone knows where to go to meetup for a run and at what time. Then give a 30min wait time for whatever stragglers coming in before leaving for the trail. Last year was a bit confusing on what was going on and where we were even going? Just a suggestion. :sorry::notsure::help:

We have options. Nothing is set in stone. There will be will be a few off road runs some 4x4 and some 2wd friendly. There are also a few trails that start at the camp site. The lake is about 10 min away. You have the option of doing any of the activities. You can also drive up to big bear it's about a 20 min drive on street.
You don't have to stay with any group. If you want to be off road all day find a buddy to spot you and go.

Randy communication gets hard when we are in camp and the phones are put away. As we get closer will organize the runs and meet points.

So, no cell phones in camp? Fine, I'll just stay on my HAM radio, CB radio, and scanner channels and listen for chatter!!! LOL!!!:laugh::rofl:

Not sure its your kind of off roading. You can get a bit of speed on some portions but its nothing you can actually open up on. You have a "go fast" truck and these are more like cruise through mountains trails. Calico is more desert, with some technical trails as well. Just giving ya a heads up, so you can make an informed decision on which place you wanna go to lol

Seems like most of the guys are going from the Calico to this one? As long as there are some trails, I'm in!
