    From the OP:

    Manual Transmission Vehicle

Manual transmission owners should be happy to hear that calibrating this is much easier than the automatic!
We have already tested and confirmed 16 way Torque manipulation controls without any Torque of i-Throttle errors
complete control over ALL target throttle angles simplified into a single 3D map - 100% confirmed

Complete control over calculated torque for throttle opening - 100% confirmed
    Complete Valve Timing Control
Complete ignition control (including stepper / multiplication control)
    Complete fueling control
Complete Maximum allowable Torque 16 way control - 100% confirmed

(the information in bold is especially important due to the complexity of the calibration to make this work flawlessly. This is TBA on the automatic for complete implementation since throttle logic is different)

    upcoming update 1.02:
Per gear rev limit - (testing)
    Rev hang (testing)
    Idle ignition stability
valve timing Cam / control update

Valve Timing Cam Control Update - Our alpha calibration is designed for stock or mostly stock vehicles looking to maximize potential power by calibrating effective throttle ranges, with mild tune enhancements. Something important to note on our Alpha calibration is that we only modify the EXHAUST camshaft timing, but the INTAKE camshaft is what controls cylinder filling. Our next update for both the automatic and manual transmission vehicles will have enhanced valve timing with both camshafts calibrated for more power. :)

Hey guys Im currently in the market for a new truck and I've been eyeing a new Tacoma. The only thing holding me back is what I've been reading regarding the engine. With this ecu tune, would anyone recommend the new tacoma, also does it solve the transmission hunting for gears or would I still need the shift pro sense?

The truck is good WITHOUT those things. Those things only make it better. And seriously, you don't need the shirt pro thingy. Just use sport mode and put it in the correct gear. The truck is designed to get better fuel mileage. The stock tune is to try and get a couple tenths better. The truck does not have eyes, so it can't SEE that it is climbing a hill and will bog out when it shifts up, so sometimes YOU have to be smarter than the truck.

There is a steep but short hill near me in a 35 mph zone. If I keep my foot rock steady and allow the truck to slow as I ascend, it will downshift from 5th to 4th (at a speed that it normally stays in 5th i.e. >30 mph).

So, I figure it has to be due to one of two things...
    1. It knows I'm going up a steep hill (because of the/an inclinometer); or,
    2. It downshifts due to the rapid loss of mph.

Edit: It's not downshifting, it is unlocking the torque converter.

I think you are the only person left waiting, and I apologize for the delay. I should have it in the morning for you. Sent over a new request for it.

Everyone else will receive pre-registered dongles. I will be updating the instructions to include that so you don't have to do the registration steps.

We have a special OBD module with a 64gb SD card that will record ALL PID data across all modules and all diagnostic lines (ISO, J). It's a ton of data to parse through but we have a special software that does this for us.
However this is far beyond any standard thing anyone here really needs.

87 octane tune is becoming a very popular request. I will be working on one very soon and all customers will be able to have the map free with the kit (which includes your premium fuel tune by default)

Has anyone Independently Dyno'd their trucks after tune?
Not saying I don't trust OV but I can post up AFE & K&N's Dyno sheets and you guys can tell me how much weight they carry?

Didn't know if that data would be useful to you guys or not in fine tuning things. Figured I'd throw it out there since I'm on the road so much.

87 tune is definitely needed here. 91 is around but 87 is everywhere.

@OVTune has nothing to gain by falsifying dyno numbers. He's a new vendor to the Tacoma market but is obviously very good at what he does given his companies other tunes and the fact that he is the only person to crack, understand and manipulate the code and make it work. He's not a large corporation that can afford a few hundred unhappy customers like k&n... I, personally trust everything he is posting and saying.

I don't have Dyno results but I walked all over my friends 2016 all stock access cab 2wd. Then he drove my truck and I drove his and we had the same result. His is an auto. We both used s mode in his truck. The truck is not a powerhouse even with the tune but it's way better.

Working on getting more kits prepared, you guys weren't kidding with how big of a community this place is.

Our local post office kind of sucks, you pay for express and you don't get it express. I am still in disbelief that shipping from one city to another city in the same STATE can take 3 days?!?!

Anyways, I should have all pending ECU versions . files / calibrations updated and sent out tonight.

I plan to get some more trucks back on the dyno, and have reserved an entire week for some more testing :). Definitely need a MT on the dyno this time too.

if I am reading that right, that dyno is showing nearly 20HP gain at the wheels from an intake? Crazy

@OVTune, I asked the question if I should get my CPK/CPS recall done before I read and send you my ECM files. Can you confirm?recall.jpg

    yes absolutely.

Anyone who has any recall that covers a critical component like this it would be good to get done prior to tuning.

There is one tune for the AT, and one for the MT. (version 1.01a at the moment) the MT file is significantly different than the AT. They are not interchangeable.

Also, now that we have a lot of the OEM calibrations and have seen what Toyota does in each updated version. I was curious if anyone wanted to know what Toyota is doing behind the scenes with some of these updates. For the AT specifically there are many changes.

    sending out some cal files.

Working on Cal 04B01 and 04B11 right now

I got the tune written and took my DCLB out on a quick test drive. My initial impressions are real solid! Truck feels more responsive and "peppy". At highway speeds, passing and accelerating are greatly enhanced and cruise control is usable now without it shifting into 4th on slight inclines. It was the first time I've been in 6th in ages actually. During city driving, the off the line performance hasnt changed too much, but the responsiveness of the throttle is definitely felt. Once the rpms spin up a little, the truck feels a lot less labored and is more effortless accelerating.

I have some added weight with steel skids/sliders and other stuff and the change is definitely noticeable. I am going to be putting more miles on the truck this week since I am going into the office the next 2 days. My steel hc rear bumper is going in saturday and so this could not have come at a better time.

I need to drive the truck more to get a feel for how the 1.01 tune has changed it

Wish I was closer. Would love to get on the dyno with the MT. This will definitely be added to the list and been following this for a while now. Just letting things get figured out before I pull the trigger.

Edit: I'm also a fan of the mid and premium tunes with intake and possibly exhaust. I've got regular mid and premium at pretty much every gas station around. Some e 85 as well about 30 minutes away

Ok I installed the Alpha Tune...As the saying goes you cant make a first impression twice! It was an easy install, and Matt was fantastic to work with!!

On initial fire up and drive you could tell it just ran healthier!! I have 4:88's in mine and you could really feel it pull!! It'll get better the more I drive it, and I'm excited to here how the Spec-U exhaust does in tandem with the tune!

    Thanks Matt and OVTune!

Flashed the alpha tune and took it for a quick/short test drive. So far experience has been the same as others. Not too much difference off the line, but definitely better throttle response with a smoother/quicker acceleration overall. Can't wait to get more time behind the wheel. Especially when I get my spec-u installed.

You need to get a UPS corporate account with a negotiated rate. My company ships large 20lb boxes all the time....UPS normal overnight rate is like $180....corporate account rate is $29. I'm guessing that a corporate rate for ground shipping with UPS for your small pakcages would be no more than you pay the post office...and you'd get better service...just a thought.

If "Crazy" is a euphemism for bull$hit, then you are spot-on....

Would be interested if the MT tune puts it down. I added a pedal commander and it certainly helped but still get 15-16mpg if my moto is loaded and on a trip. I found that staying out of 6th unless I am going down hill helps. Id rather not change gears, add pipes and atune to get it to run like it should.

    Pipes=$1000
    Tune=$750
    Gears=??
