No comparison. Raptor is built to do high speed off road. TRD Pro is built to LOOK like it would do high speed off road. There is no substitute for horsepower and suspension travel. With that said get some Kings and just go kinda fast.
There's a reason the Raptor costs 10K more.

The raptors are going for about $65-75k. Which is double what my TRD OR cost me. I did an ICON Stage 4 and I have been doing 40-70 mph runs and it's smooth as glass. I even got all 4 tires off the ground in sand. But it rides like a sports car on road and in off road situations under 30 mph. I can feel every little thing. That's just due to the valving from ICON. Also in the trail/rockcrawling aspect, it's also great. I drove up some serious shit last weekend and it performed much better than I expected.

Right? People see that $55k base msrp and think thats the going rate for a raptor but its not. A similarly equipped raptor will easily be $20k+ more than a Tacoma.

Why would a Raptor go for over MSRP? Are they making a limited number of them? I guess same question for the TRD Pro...

They (as in Raptors) are because they are brand new again. Give it a few years for the supply to catch up. The 2014s were being negotiated over invoice before sales stopped.

Right now, a great deal for a 2017 raptor would be as close as you can get to MSRP (understanding that it will be a markup still).

TRD Pro tacos, tundras and 4Runners tend to go right at MSRP with a few instances of above and below. It's really a lack of supply there and high interest due to the fact they're "special editions."

For what it's worth there are a handful of folks on the raptor forums that had them at $2k-$5k over MSRP in the Oklahoma area (not sure how ford does their regions) and either flew out or had them shipped.

A lot of this comes down to what your definition of fast is and what you're terrain looks like. Can you give us a more detailed description?
E.g. Fire roads, any whoops, size of bumps, etc.

Running the coast of Baja in comfort is different than hitting big whoops on a race coarse. Both are high speed, but totally different setups.

Metalcloak runs the highest spring ride rates in the Jeep industry. As a result they handle well but are not fast or smooth.
