Had a lift installed and my vendor cannot access specs for anything past 2015 tacomas. Has anybody else ran into this? They have contacted Toyota but they will not supply them with the programming...

I'd take it somewhere other than "Tio Chuy's Llantera and Alignment"

No haven't heard that one yet.

Its a reliable shop so I'm not doubting their capabilities...their alignment machine is also new and updated but 2016+ tacomas are not in the latest update

Find a better shop. One that doesnt have specs for a 3 yo vehicle I'd be wondering if they even keep their equipment calibrated.

You said lifted? How much? You want to shoot for 0 degrees toe/camber and 2.5ish degrees caster, but that much caster may not be achievable with a lift and stock UCAs. I have 1.5 degrees caster on my truck and I'm happy with how it drives

The dealership service dept will be happy to charge you $100 to align your vehicle.

I know I will avoid letting them do it if i can. Really more or less wanted to discuss why the shop I used can't access the information then move on from there.

Only the shop knows why their equipment is not up-to-date with the latest specs for your truck. Or they just made a lame excuse because they don't want to fuck with your lifted (non-factory) vehicle. I'd guess they just need to update their software, by contacting the vendor of their equipment.

Either case they aren't aptly prepared to perform the service on your vehicle. Not sure what you expect your dealer to tell you. I'd find another alignment shop with good reviews/ratings in your area, call ahead to make sure they're OK with adjusting alignment on lifted vehicles and specifically if they have experience with Toyota Tacomas. The factory specs don't really matter that much anyhow, you're probably going to want to go with 0 toe/camber AND positive caster (if possible given your setup), aftermarket UCAs will allow them to get more caster dialed in. If you're running stock UCAs you maybe short on Caster....usually once you go over 2" of lift you need to install aftermarket UCAs to get the caster dialed in adequately.

That's a fair price for a lifted truck. I've always paid around that for mine.

I appreciate the input, I'll get it sorted out and aligned properly just wanted to test the waters here before I jumped to conclusions and took it somewhere else.
They used the latest programming they had for a 2015 Tacoma and its rode like butter for the last couple hundred miles.

I need to post some pictures up

Whatchu got against Tío Chuy? It's a legit biz.

OP, your alignment guy can align with the older specs, he just has to setup the heads and make sure the frame is square for the adjustments. They're just angle values he follows. Don't need a recipe book for everything.
Your truck should drive straight without pulling and the tire wear should be good without following exact factory specs if he knows what he's doing. Factory settings are for non lifted, unmodified vehicles. Factory manual also has specs for height that need to be within a certain range to correlate with the alignment. Wheel offset, lift, and other suspension mods affect final overall values. I have to run more toe to minimize the heel toe wear than my stock settings, but it's still within range of the '15 and '16 spec.
