Crummy picture but this was 3rd Street last night for the street concert. Old courthouse and stage in the distance, Moses Black to the immediate left. Day late, dollar short I'm afraid.

Ugh, as of yesterday lost river cave tour is temporarily suspended due to high water...might forego the bowling green portion of the itinerary with the Vette factory tours suspended and noowmthe lost river cave.

    Well, more for Bardstown then!

Yeah Sundays are a bad day for visiting. Saw someone peeking in the window of 3rd St. Tap House around 5:30 today looking kinda disappointed it was closed.

Explore Louisville if you're crossing Bowling Green off the list.

I feel the same way! I always said the only thing I liked about Ohio was crossing the bridge back to Kentucky! I-75 is highly traveled and poorly funded. They've been hacking on it here in Kentucky for as long as I can remember. As soon as they get the last section done its time to start over.

Made it back home! Great time...day two hit Jim Beam in am and was awesome then Berniheim Forest ...really nice. Then to knob creek range, cuz who doesn't go shooting after drinking? lol

Can't say enough good things about the range, awesome people, awesome facilities..great time. But the Bonus!?!

The drive from Shepherdsville to Knob Creek on 44 was a blast. Great run to enjoy the manual. Also the 127S from I71 to Frankfort, all 55 mph and curvy narrow. Had a huge grin

Owensboro....no one in TW from Owensboro? Saw 2 3rd gens in driveways, 1 other at gas pumps, and at least 5 2nd gens in the streets . .rest of way to Frankfort must have seen at least 20 more of various years...you guys represent but......

Cuz, NOBODY here mentioned Frankfort is spleled incorrectly in the title!...I digress

After the range, went to Knox...no joy. Understandable

Evening drive to south Indianapolis, everything was closed in Louisville by that time, got 90 mins of ashphalt behind us.

Found the Muddy Duck about three gear shifts from the hotel, that place is awesome.

Hit the Indy Museum this morning, A.J. Foyt exhibit was great, unfortunately due to torrential rain and severe thunderstorms they could not open the track tour. Understandable cuz...

When we left the track 90 mins later, drove for over 100 miles headed home in same thunderstorm/torrential rain...what's with Indianapolis, it thunderstormed for over 13 hrs straight?

When I get back to broadband next week, I'll upload some media if there's interest.

Great trip, thanks for all the input gents!

All right, back to real broadband...

This little endeavor of a trip turned into a real "get off one horse and hop on another"...and was successful thanks to the input from you guys on this thread. Dankje

Made it out on Sunday morning around 8ish (that was a strong accomplishment) and got feet dry in Marine City, sweet blue skies, clear sailing. I knew there was closure of 75 before the airport near Detroit and google steered me clear. Then Monroe...fuck I75 POS highway. Anyways, 45 min delay...rock on.

Hit Ohio and clear sailing, even when the 70mph went to 55 right at the spot where the laser equipped velocity enforcement officer was planted. I'm Canadian eh, and we're not allowed radar detectors, so we're rewarded with having good eye and gut feel. Awesome... Dayton got a bit congested with traffic but hey, im on vaca heading to bourbon country...life is good, and 'cides, it's fucking Dayton, what else do the locals have to do in Dayton 'cept drive around... amirate?

Then Cincinnati...fuck I miss Dayton already! Seriously? They been working on them bridges since '77! It's not a large span eh! Get over it already.

    Fuck Ohio!

    WELCOME TO KENTUCKY!

Get the fvck off of 75 and hit I71 toward Louisville, blood pressure calming right the fuck down now...theres hills in them there views. Google's bitching betty pipes up "exit 71 on 127 Glencoe "

Here's where I'm a putz sometimes...we got this gopro factory mount in the tacoma, I have a gopro hero 4 black. It's in the truck for this purpose! In the glove box cuz didn't want the truck broke into at the rest stop previous. I am so enamored wheeling my buggy, through some gorgeous countryside, winding up and down that narrow highway at a speed limit of 55...who forgets to pull out the gopro? Yup...dont matter tho cuz that drive is etched in memory. Beautiful stretch to have some fun with the Manny tranny.

Hit Buffalo Trace too late for the last tour *fvck I75* but in time to join up for the tasting. I'm very well aquainted with the Buffalo Trace offerings...but a nice drink went down vedy vedy noice...wifey don't drink bourbon, so...yeah :)

A young lad who was at Buffalo Trace heard the wife and I mention Bardstown and said he was from there...highly recommended Jim Beam Tour as outstanding. Hell of a nice guy.

Had to bypass Woodfords ... fvck I75 ...but they get enough of my money anyhow! Lol...off to Bardstown !

Roll into town hungry...beeline straight for olde downtown...Specifically The Old Talbot Tavern. Well not specifically, but cuz it was the only thing open. But at least it was open.

Alas, the bourbon bar was not  but they let me look at their inventory :)

Dinner down, drinks had...drove around town for a bit...saw ye old historic village, found some narrow back roads...then to the Hampton Hilton for rest.

With the heads up from the TW cat earlier in this thread regarding the Corvette Factory tours being suspended until 2019 *thanks again btw* we still had the Vette Museum, Lost River Cave tour and Vette Track...til I decided to check the hours of the Lost River Cave tours...as of the previous day, they were suspended due to high water.

So, now we're down to Vette Museum and Track...I like the vette's and all *86 IROC Owner* but not enough to dedicate a whole day for...soooo, executive decision time (read, wife buy in) to switch horses. Up in the thread earlier were suggestions for Mammoth Cave, Jim Beam (and from buddy arc welder on the tour at Buffalo Trace), Bernheim Forest, Fort Knox, Louisville, Knob Creek Gun Range, Indianapolis...wait, back this truck the fuck up, gun range? That's like fvcking heroin teasing to a redneck Kanadian eh.

*Side note, bit of a tangent but with a tie in* Wife and I got married in Vegas 18 years ago. First thing officially signed after the wedding certificate was at an indoor range firing full auto...keep reading, the tie in will come...just to say she was totally stoked to hit the range.

She really wanted to do Mammoth Cave tour, I checked them out...ya, no. That subterranean stuff...kant do it. I'm a pilot, scuba certified and driver licensed...I've conquered land, sea and air. In my mind the last bastion is space. I have never considered underground, cuz...knot gonna do it. That shits like way underground. Nuh Uh. I'd rather be in Cincinnati on I75...fuck the hell no.

So whats a guy to do when he has to pull out a pussy flag? I turn on the sales charm :D Mammoth cave is the wrong way, we gots Jimmy Beam highly rated that's right across from Bernheim Forest then a quik lunch at Denny's in Shepherdsville (ok, I called an audible on that one passing by, DO NOT say I kant sell)...

Pussy flag accepted!...Gotta say, that Jim Beam tour was impressive. 14 bux (so like 99 CDN dollars) and cannot say enough good things about it. Absolutely recommended and what a way to spend 10 o'clock in the morning...did I say I love KY? Dawesome. As a little hidden easter egg, I've got Bookers and White Dog in the bar.

yup, did the bottle print purchase...had to

    here's 30 days worth lol

Wifey doesnt drink bourbon! I get double at tasting, yay me!...Off to Bernheim Forest. Thats a real nice drive...lazy nice way to spend and hour or so driving around checking out the countryside. Was smirt enuf this time to rack up the gopro and fire it up. Y'all dont need the vid of that, however...

    Pic or it didnt happen...

Knob Creek Gun Range...first, Denny's in Shepherdsville...it was ok. But, that drive on 44 from Shepherdsville to Knob Creek...60 mph manny tranny...I, I, I, I'll be right back...

Ok, that was a scream and actually have a vid from the gopro but...just drive it if you havent, especially in a stick.

Gun Range...what a kick. Walked in, was asked if we could be helped. I said I had heard that this is where Canadians could come to let out their frustrations...he smiled :D

Was awesome....I know pics are frowned upon, made sure no faces were captured...

The Line boss...awesome dood. He reminded me of the dood from Pawn Stars (looks wise)...he's a rock star!

**Tie in from above** Wife is south paw...Line Boss noticed and said "Oh, you're one of them" which was the exact same comment made in Vegas when he saw her line up...."Oh, you're one of them"

Tried to invade Fort Knox...despite the Diff Recall, CKS Recall, and howling Diff (have none of the above) I made it all the way to the visitor center...even took a number, got called up...denied visitation to Patton Museum...bummer. Better than the earlier times of Kanadians invading US....sorry aboot your White House eh? we got bored

Welp, its very late afternoon....now what...Louisville it is...

Fvck, its like Cincinnati...its big, like city wise. I mean, I knew it was a city...didnt know it was a City, yanno. Parked at the Econo Inn downtown cuz...museum strip directions. Ya, no. I'd rather be in Mammoth Cave *shudder*...I'm not anti Louisville, I'm sure there's stuff to check out there, but...was missing Dayton at that point *who DOES that?*. Soooooo, executive decision time (wife was so on base with me on this one, immediate sale)...

Since our return from Louisville to home was 7.5 hrs cuz...fvck Ohio, POS 75...we're gonna go thru Indiana, lets get 1.5 hrs of asphalt behind us and get to Indy. Was mentioned earlier in the thread that the Indy Museum was an awesome ticket

Got to an interchange just shy of Indianapolis with a bunch of hotels, found one...hungry. Found the Muddy Duck...sat there on their patio looking over the pond watching the staff launch fireworks...found midnight when the sky was lighting up with lightning. WTF is with Indianapolis, is this normal? 14 hours AT LEAST straight of Thunderstorms...not like just shitty drizzle rain stuff. FUCKING THUNDERSTORMS FOR 14 HRS...I looked at the weather radar, yanno, pilot and all. Shit would bubble up just NW of Indianapolis, shit all over it, the fizzle off just SE.

Soooo, the museum was great...didnt get to do the track tour because of the severe thunderstorms. News had fire hydrants almost to the top with flooding in places...shit happenz.

Time to head home...after 90 miles of torrential rain and thunderstorms, broke out for a great drive up thru Fort Wayne, up into Mich and then Detroit...ughhh...DAYTON! PLS

Was a great trip gents! I'd like to thank you again for the input you provided...it definitely gave us the dynamic ability to change horses when outside forces dictated. Awesome trip, and KY...thumbs up. You do it right.

Mt Washington (the town I live in) has just over 11,000 people. We have 54 churches. You have to figure at least half don't even go to church, maybe more. Some go out of the town to bigger churches near Louisville.

Probably a good "business" to get into.....

Yup, I'm a fan of Kentucky. I'm from rural Ontario and there quite a bit of similarities.

That being said, couldn't get out of downtown Louisville fast enough. Reminded me of Toronto.

We will come back, that much is certain
